VKU students gained real-world experience at FPT Software – Sparking career inspiration and integration aspiration

On April 29, 2025, more than 600 second-year students majoring in Information Technology at Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Danang participated in a program to visit, study and experience reality at FPT Software Danang – one of the leading information technology enterprises in Vietnam and the region.

At FPT Complex, students had direct access to a professional and creative working environment and were introduced to the actual software production process, modern project management models such as Agile, DevOps, corporate culture and future-shaping technology trends of the industry.

More than just an extracurricular trip, the program has become a true “open classroom” – where students learned by seeing, hearing and experiencing the practical aspects of the profession in a vivid way. Through each story from technology experts, students have the opportunity to connect the theory in the classroom with the real world of the market, thereby expanding their thinking, defining their career more clearly and identifying the skills they need to cultivate in the journey ahead.

The special point that makes this activity deeply meaningful is that real-world experience is identified as an important link in the school’s modern training model. VKU not only focuses on thorough professional training, but also creates conditions for learners to regularly access and experience practice in a real-world business environment with a training method closely linked to the labor market, placing learners at the center and aiming for comprehensive working capacity.

This is also a testament to the close cooperation strategy between VKU and large technology enterprises such as FPT, to promote the “School – Enterprise – Learner” linkage model, aiming at the goal of training high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of digital economic development and national digital transformation.

The real-world experience tour not only helps students shorten the gap between “Learning to know” and “Learning to do”, but also reinforces the consistent orientation in VKU’s training model: Training linked with practice, closely connected with businesses, and centered on learners. On the journey to shaping a generation of digital, creative, and global citizens, VKU not only imparts knowledge, but also nurtures responsibility, aspiration, and the drive to rise up in every student.
