VKU Students: From the Classroom to Real-World Professional Experience

A Real-World Experience in Logistics and Digital Supply Chain at Tan Cang STC
Students from the Logistics Management and Digital Supply Chain major gained real-world experience at Tan Cang STC – Ho Chi Minh City.
From 22nd to 27th of September 2024, seventy-six students from the Logistics Management and Digital Supply Chain major participated in a trip for professional experience and practice at Tan Cang STC in Ho Chi Minh City.
The students had the opportunity to access some of the country’s most modern logistics and supply chain equipment. They were guided through and learned about real-world activities such as operations at the wharf, inspection activities, and the CFS warehouse system. Students also engaged in practical tasks like container lashing, cutting container seals, securing and packaging goods, and learned the processes involved in forwarding and airfreight operations. They took part in a simulated course on Forwarder and Airfreight services to better understand the process of transporting goods by sea and air, including steps such as receiving client requests, contacting transportation units, calculating freight charges, comparing and choosing the optimal solutions, providing quotes, and completing payment.

At the end of the program, Tan Cang STC awarded the students with a certificate titled “Understanding Port Operations and Import-Export Practices in Ho Chi Minh City” in recognition of their participation.
“A Round of Da Nang” – Learning Through Experience and Exploring Culture and Tourism
Freshmen from the Digital Tourism and Travel Services Management major visited Linh Ung Pagoda (Son Tra, Da Nang)
As part of the “A Round of Da Nang” one-day tour program on September 28, 2024, forty-five freshmen from the Digital Tourism and Travel Services Management major had the opportunity to experience a real-world working environment and practice professional skills.
Designed and organized by third-year students, this program especially enabled first year students to gain practical experience early in their studies. The students visited famous sites in Da Nang such as Linh Ung Pagoda (Son Tra), Da Nang Museum, Cham Museum, APEC Park, and the Marble Mountains scenic complex.
The trip not only provided practical knowledge about tourism but also helped students develop skills in tour design, guest guiding, and real-world problem solving. Additionally, students had the chance to experience local cuisine, gaining a deeper understanding of regional culture – an important factor in tourism.
