VKU Strengthens Cooperation with KOICA Vietnam through the Volunteer Program
On the afternoon of January 29, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a working session with the KOICA Vietnam Office to discuss plans and procedures related to the reception of KOICA Volunteers in the coming period. This meaningful activity contributes to strengthening international cooperation, promoting the internationalization of the learning environment, and enhancing the quality of teaching and scientific research at the University.

Overview of the working session
Attending the meeting, on behalf of the KOICA Vietnam Office was Ms. Lee Jinhee – Volunteer Program Manager. Representing VKU were Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of the University, along with leaders of relevant departments and faculties. The meeting was held in an open and cooperative atmosphere, reflecting the strong commitment of both sides to the effective implementation of the KOICA Volunteer Program at VKU.

In his remarks, Dr. Tran The Son warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized that, in its development strategy, VKU consistently prioritizes the expansion of international cooperation and the enhancement of training quality in line with international integration, particularly in the fields of economics and management associated with technology. The reception of KOICA Volunteers is expected to strengthen professional resources, support teaching and research activities, and promote connections with industry, thereby bringing practical benefits to both lecturers and students. VKU also affirmed its commitment to close coordination and to creating favorable conditions for volunteers to work effectively and fully utilize their professional expertise and experience.

Representing the KOICA Vietnam Office, Ms. Lee Jinhee expressed her appreciation for VKU’s warm reception and highly valued the University’s development orientation and cooperation potential. She noted that the KOICA Volunteer Program in Vietnam aims to support educational institutions in human resource development, strengthen knowledge exchange, and promote cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam. According to the plan, KOICA Volunteers are expected to work at VKU for approximately five months, providing professional support in training, research, and cooperation activities.
During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on the procedures and processes for receiving KOICA Volunteers, as well as the implementation plan for the coming period. Accordingly, the volunteers are expected to support teaching activities in courses related to Business Administration and Financial Management. In addition to teaching support, the volunteers will also play a role in connecting with enterprises, participating in scientific research activities alongside lecturers and students, and providing recommendations and consultation for the development and improvement of training programs aligned with practical needs and international standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, VKU and the KOICA Vietnam Office agreed to continue close coordination to soon implement the KOICA Volunteer Program in the coming period. This is considered an important step toward promoting sustainable cooperation between VKU and KOICA Vietnam, while reaffirming the University’s efforts to enhance the quality of education, research, and high-quality human resource development in the context of international integration.
