VKU Spreads the Aspiration for Digital Education to Quang Ngai – Over 1,300 Students Participate in 2025 Admissions Counseling Program

On the morning of April 20, 2025, the 2025 Admission Counseling Program took place under the theme “Choose the Right School – Pursue the Right Career.” The event was hosted by the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang (UD), in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai Province and Tran Quoc Tuan High School. The program was professionally and elaborately organized, providing accurate and comprehensive information about the admission plans of UD in general and VKU in particular. The event welcomed the participation of over 1,300 students from 14 high schools across Quang Ngai City, Tu Nghia District, and Mo Duc District.

Overview of the program

Attending the event, from the Quang Ngai Department of Education and Training, were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai – Provincial Party Member and Director of the Department – along with leaders from specialized divisions within the Department. From VKU, the delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, and leaders of the University’s departments, faculties, and centers. Also in attendance were representatives of the Board of Principals from 14 high schools: Tran Quoc Tuan, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Le Trung Dinh, Hoang Van Thu, Huynh Thuc Khang, Chu Van An, Vo Nguyen Giap, Son My, Thu Xa, Tu Nghia 1, Tu Nghia 2, Mo Duc 2, Nguyen Cong Tru, and Pham Van Dong, along with more than 1,300 students.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai, a Member Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Education and Training (DOET), expressed his sincere appreciation to Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) for the dedication, initiative, and professionalism in coordinating with the DOET of Quang Ngai Province to organize The 2025 University Admission and Career Counseling Program at Tran Quoc Tuan High School. He emphasized that today’s program not only provides students with updated and practical information but also demonstrates the strong connection between higher education institutions, general education, and the local education sector. “I believe that this would be a valuable opportunity for students to receive proper guidance in choosing a field of study that aligns with their abilities, interests, and the development trends of society”, he shared.

Speech by Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU

In his speech at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of the university, expressed his sincere and profound gratitude to the directors of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai Province, the Board of Principals of 14 high schools, and nearly 1,300 students and teachers who participated in that day’s program – a program full of meaning and hope. The Rector shared that this is not merely an admission counseling program, but also an opportunity for us to share a common dream – the Dream of Central Vietnam. This dream is about ensuring that the young generation of this rich in tradition and determination place, can study in a modern, integrated, and high-quality environment right in their homeland. Furthermore, they can build their career and contribute to a better future for Central Vietnam, without having to go to big cities and leave their families to make a living.

Driven by the vision of developing a modern and prestigious university that nurtures global citizens from Central Vietnam, VKU takes pride in being one of the country’s leading public universities, with strong expertise in digital technology, AI, IC Design, fintech, etc., through intergrated bilingual programs, strong industry connections, international integration, and a student-centered approach. Mr. Nguyen Thai An – Principal of Tran Quoc Tuan High School – delivered a speech

On behalf of the host institution, Mr. Nguyen Thai An – Principal of Tran Quoc Tuan High School – expressed his sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) for delivering a practical, high-quality, and meaningful university admissions counseling program to students in Quang Ngai Province. He highlighted VKU’s spirit and sense of responsibility in supporting students to access official information, engage in discussion, and receive clear guidance on suitable academic disciplines and universities aligned with their abilities and passions. Besides, he emphasized that this was a valuable opportunity for students to gain motivation, confidence, and a solid foundation to make the right decision and to be well-prepared for their future with confidence and a proactive mindset.

In 2025, VKU plans to enroll 1,500 students across three fields: Computer and Information Technology (900 admission slots); Business and Management (480 admission slots); and Journalism and Communications (120 admission slots). The university offers five admission methods, including direct admission according to the Ministry of Education and Training’s regulations; admission based on the 2025 national high school graduation exam results; admission based on high school academic performance (transcript evaluation); admission based on the competency assessment test conducted by the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; and direct admission according to VKU’s own admission plan. VKU is also introducing four new majors/specializations: Financial Technology, Game Technology, Data Analytics, and Automotive Software Engineering, in addition to its existing 15 majors such as: Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Semiconductor Circuit Design, Digital Art Design, Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics and Digital Supply Chain Management, Digital Tourism and Hospitality Management, and IT Project Management. These are trending fields with a strong need for high-quality human resources both domestically and internationally.

VKU continues to maintain a stable and preferential tuition fee, estimated at an average of 8–9 million VND per semester. The university also maintains its policy on direct admission for eligible candidate groups in accordance with its regulations. In addition, VKU offers a range of new support policies for students, covering from 50% to 100% of tuition fees, from the first semester up to the entire course–across all admission methods, aiming to support and encourage high-achieving applicants to enroll at the university.

In addition to the support policies for students, VKU also offers substantial scholarships for the valedictorian with 50 million VND, the salutatorian with 25–40 million VND, the top 10 students with 20 million VND, and many scholarships for students with outstanding results in the admission process or from families with difficult circumstances with 2 million VND per scholarship. These scholarships aim to motivate and encourage high-achieving students to enroll at the university.

VKU awarded 14 companion scholarships to disadvantaged students

At the program, VKU awarded 14 scholarships worth 5 million VND each to support disadvantaged students who excel academically and 1 sponsorship to Tran Quoc Tuan High School, with a total value of up to 75 million VND for 14 high schools: Tran Quoc Tuan, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Le Trung Dinh, Hoang Van Thu, Huynh Thuc Khang, Chu Van An, Vo Nguyen Giap, Son My, Thu Xa, Tu Nghia 1, Tu Nghia 2, Mo Duc 2, Nguyen Cong Tru, and Pham Van Dong.

Experiential activities

Right after the admissions counseling session, the program continued with a vibrant and exciting atmosphere, featuring a series of hands-on activities for students to engage, such as creative drawing on Wacom boards, dressing up in traditional Korean costumes – Hanbok, and competing in a thrilling Robocar match between teams from various high schools. Meanwhile, teachers attended a specialized training session on “Applying AI in teaching material design,” led by Dr. Nguyen Huu Nhat Minh, Deputy Head of the Department of Science – Technology & International Cooperation. This session aimed to provide high school teachers with an opportunity to update themselves on new technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), a tool that is revolutionizing the field of education.

The 2025 University Admission and Career Counseling Program in Quang Ngai Province not only provided accurate, timely, and practical information to help students choose careers that align with their abilities and passions, but also conveyed profound values of educational responsibility and the strong connection between schools, parents, and students in shaping the future. With a learner-centered approach and a steadfast commitment to the educational philosophy of “Humanity – Dedication – Liberation” along with its core values of “Prestige – Quality – Professionalism”, VKU continuously innovates and grows, aspiring to become a trusted destination for future generations of students in Quang Ngai Province.
