VKU signs MoU with LikeLion (Korea): Expanding International Training and Internship Opportunities for Students

On the morning of December 29, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LikeLion (South Korea). This event marks a significant milestone in VKU’s strategy to expand international cooperation and align education with the practical demands of the global labor market.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU; Mr. Kwon Oh Chul – Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LikeLion; leaders of departments and faculties; and nearly 100 students from various academic programs of VKU.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU emphasized that the cooperation with LikeLion clearly demonstrates VKU’s consistent orientation toward linking education with the business ecosystem, particularly with reputable international partners in the fields of information technology and software development. VKU identifies the training of high-quality human resources capable of working in international environments as a core mission, in which cooperative internship programs, hands-on training, and the transfer of advanced training models play a key role. The signing of the MoU with LikeLion not only creates opportunities for VKU students to access Korean-standard training and internship programs, but also contributes to enhancing their professional competence, practical skills, and international integration capacity. Previously, the K-Tech College 2025 training program, funded by the Korean Government under the leadership of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and managed by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), was successfully implemented by LikeLion, delivering strong outcomes. The program has effectively supported VKU students in developing their competencies and preparing them to enter the international labor market, fully aligning with VKU’s applied, practice-oriented, and internationally integrated training orientation.

Representing the partner organization, Mr. Kwon Oh Chul – Chief Technology Officer of LikeLion, expressed his strong impression of VKU’s remarkable development in recent years, particularly its dynamic training environment, international orientation, and the serious learning attitude of VKU students. LikeLion looks forward to long-term cooperation with VKU in implementing training and internship programs, as well as in connecting students with Korean and international technology enterprises. Through this MoU, LikeLion will actively coordinate with VKU in student selection, organizing remote internship programs and short-term training courses, and supporting students in strengthening their professional competencies in areas such as web and application development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, UI/UX, and project management.

The two parties agreed to focus their cooperation on implementing internship programs associated with the K-Tech College Project, creating opportunities for VKU students, especially final-year students, to participate in remote internships with Korean enterprises during both vacation periods and regular academic semesters. In addition, VKU and LikeLion will jointly develop and organize short-term training programs, academic activities, and information technology human resource development initiatives in response to real market needs.

The MoU signing between VKU and LikeLion not only creates valuable learning, internship, and career opportunities for students but also contributes to affirming VKU’s position as a pioneering public university in international cooperation and high-quality IT human resource training, meeting the demands of the digital era and global integration.
