VKU signed cooperation agreement with Korean Education Group to strengthen cooperation in training, research and development of science, technology and innovation services
On the afternoon of January 14, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang had a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement with Korea Education Group (KEG) to strengthen cooperation in training, research and development of science, technology and innovation services.
Attending the event, on KEG’s side, there were Mr. Kim Young Woo – Director, Mr. Won Kwang Seog – Director of Global Business and Mr. Kim Jun Hee – Manager; on VKU’s side, there was Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, along with leaders of Departments, Faculties and Centers of the university.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the university expressed his joy and excitement at the cooperation between VKU and KEG. This is an important and meaningful event in creating opportunities for VKU students in the training fields to improve their capacity and apply for jobs in the Korean market. VKU is a public university under the University of Danang, established in 2020 on the basis of merging constituent units with a history of more than 20 years. At the present time, VKU has nearly 7,000 students studying in the fields of information technology, communication and digital economy; VKU’s average admission score is 24 points for 16 majors/specializations. Especially in 2024, VKU enrolled IC Design Engineers with a nationally top-tier entrance admission score of 27 points. With the important mission of a leading public university in providing high-quality human resources for the fields of information technology, communication and digital economy, VKU has pioneered and actively trained and developed high-quality human resources in strategic professions for the development of Da Nang City, the country and world trends and has been very successful in the fields/specializations of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, logistics and digital financial technology (Fintech, in 2024). VKU’s training and human resource development direction focuses on digital technology for the financial industry (TechFin-Technology Finance), enhancing foreign languages of English, Japanese, Korean and the ability to adapt to change, lifelong self-learning capacity (liberation) for learners. Currently, VKU has cooperated with more than 200 domestic and foreign partners, constantly expanding relationships, promoting connections in training, scientific research and innovation. In particular, the cooperation with KEG will open up many valuable opportunities for students to participate in Korean-Vietnamese bilingual training programs to access jobs in the Korean market.

On behalf of KEG, Mr. Kim Young Woo – Director expressed his joy and gratitude for VKU’s interest in the exchange and cooperation. He said that KEG is a leading educational group in Korea, specializing in providing diverse vocational training programs, including computer design, culinary arts, beauty, game development, information technology, aviation and entertainment. Established in 2026 with headquarter in Seoul, KEG currently has 8 member units with more than 2,500 employees operating mainly in Korea. At present, KEG is pursuing ODA projects of the Korean Government to expand the global market with the aim of enhancing the expansion of training cooperation and search for human resources. Through this cooperation, KEG hopes to accompany VKU in the coming time.

The cooperation between VKU and KEG includes many important aspects, in which the two sides will implement student exchange and internship programs, creating opportunities for VKU students to intern in the field of information technology in Korea. In addition, the two sides will cooperate to develop modern training programs in areas such as IC design, Fintech and network security, exchange lecturers, promote joint research activities, organize training programs to enhance Korean language proficiency for students and provide consulting services on information technology education.
The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between VKU and KEG marks an important step in strengthening the connection between the two units, opening up many development opportunities for students and the business community. This cooperative relationship not only contributes to improving the quality of training and research at VKU, but also affirms the position of the university in international integration, while promoting the development of high-quality human resources in the fields of information technology, communication and digital economy in Vietnam and Korea. This is a solid foundation for long-term cooperation, bringing practical and sustainable values in the future.
