Remarks by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU
In his remarks, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap emphasized that 2025 marked an important milestone, recognizing VKU’s strong development after six years of establishment and growth, especially in admission activities. The University successfully fulfilled 100% of its enrollment target with 1,500 seats across 19 majors and specializations. The admission benchmark scores have remained stable over the past three consecutive years at 23–24 points, ranking among the highest in the Central region and nationwide. Notably, the proportion of students from the top 20% of high-achieving students at high schools enrolling at VKU has continued to increase. This has contributed to building a student community with strong academic ability, creative thinking, and good moral qualities, which forms a solid foundation and motivation for students to achieve outstanding results in learning, scientific research, and national and international academic competitions. In 2025, the total number of newly enrolled students reached 1,454, raising the University’s total enrollment scale to nearly 8,000 students.
According to the Rector, these achievements clearly demonstrate the consistency of VKU’s development strategy, the unity and persistent efforts of the leadership, staff, lecturers, and students, and the effectiveness of renewing admission communication and counseling methods in a more professional, modern, and learner-centered manner. In the context of increasing competition among higher education institutions, admission communication is not only about providing information but also about spreading the University’s educational values, philosophy, identity, and academic reputation to society, parents, and students. This requires the active, responsible, and creative participation of all members, with each VKU member serving as a “communication ambassador” in building the image of a reputable, humane, modern, and happy university.

Reports on 2025 admission results and the 2026 admission plan
Entering 2026, VKU identifies this as a pivotal year opening a new development phase with many strategic key tasks, closely linked to the effective implementation of major policies of the Party and the State on the development of science, technology, and innovation, in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, Conclusion Notice No. 45-TB/TGV of the Central Steering Committee, and the assignment decision of the Director of the University of Danang on implementing Conclusion 45. On this basis, the University focuses on comprehensively improving the quality of training, scientific research, and community service; accelerating synchronized and effective digital transformation across all fields; and building a humane, modern educational environment toward the goal of a “happy university.” In this context, admission continues to be identified as a key strategic task, requiring proactive, systematic, and flexible implementation.
In 2026, VKU plans to enroll 1,700 students for 22 majors and specializations, including the launch of four new specializations: Digital Media and Entertainment Event Management, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and Semiconductor IC Packaging and Testing. These programs are designed to promptly respond to the rapid development trends of science and technology and the growing demand for high-quality human resources. Along with three flexible admission methods—direct admission and priority admission in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, a combined admission method, and a specific admission method (independent admission)—VKU continues to maintain competitive tuition fees, expected at approximately VND 10–12 million per semester. The University also offers a wide range of financial support policies and scholarships, covering from 50% of a semester’s tuition to 100% of tuition for the entire program. In particular, entrance scholarships for valedictorians and runners-up continue to be offered with high value, demonstrating VKU’s strong commitment to accompanying, attracting, and nurturing talented learners, thereby enhancing input quality and affirming its reputation and position within Vietnam’s higher education system.
