Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU – delivering his speech at the event

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU – emphasized that VJIT Space is the result of a strong and long-standing partnership between VKU and NiX Education, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2022. Over the past three years, the Japanese–Vietnamese bilingual training program, jointly implemented by VKU and NiX Education, has attracted significant attention. From an initial cohort of 33 students, the program has now expanded to nearly 150 students enrolled in the Japanese–Vietnamese bilingual Software Engineering and Information Technology programs, pursuing either a Bachelor’s or an Engineer’s degree. The results are truly impressive: 20 students have been recruited by Japanese companies, including one who was evaluated as being on par with a Japanese engineer. Four students have been hired by GLD-LAB. Many students have also achieved Japanese language proficiency at the N3 and N2 levels within just one year of study. These achievements clearly demonstrate the quality, practicality, and outstanding effectiveness of the program in training a new generation of globally competent IT engineers.

As a public university oriented toward digital technology and the digital economy, VKU has always taken the lead in offering cutting-edge academic programs such as IC Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Financial Technology. VKU’s training model not only meets international standards but is also tailored to the demands of the global job market. The establishment of VJIT Space perfectly embodies this spirit – a place where people, technology, and culture come together, and a launchpad for innovative and creative ideas to thrive and spread.

VJIT Space is not only a place for learning and research, but also a vibrant meeting point between VKU students and Japanese enterprises – a space for Japan–Vietnam cultural exchange and the implementation of highly practical international collaboration projects. It also stands as clear evidence of VKU’s growing role and reputation, both regionally and internationally, as a leading technology training center in Central Vietnam, the Central Highlands, and across the country.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap expressed his sincere gratitude to the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, the government of Kitakyushu City, NiX Education, and Japanese enterprises for their continuous support, collaboration, and trust in VKU on its journey to developing high-quality human resources. He also commended the relentless efforts of students in the Japanese–Vietnamese bilingual program, as well as the dedication of the teaching staff, whose contributions have played a vital role in enhancing the training quality and growing reputation of the University.

Speech by Mr. Mori Takero – Consul General of Japan in Da Nang

In his remarks, Mr. Mori Takero – Consul General of Japan in Da Nang – expressed his deep appreciation for VKU’s forward-looking vision and its openness to international cooperation. He highly praised the collaboration model between VKU and Japanese enterprises, particularly the Japanese–Vietnamese bilingual training program jointly implemented by VKU and NiX Education. He emphasized that the launch of VJIT Space is not only the creation of a dynamic learning environment but also a symbol of the strong cultural, technological, and human connection between Vietnam and Japan. The Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang will continue to support educational collaboration initiatives between the two sides strongly.

Remarks by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – CEO of NiX Education

As a long-standing partner with VKU since the early days of the Japan–Vietnam bilingual program, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – CEO of NiX Education – shared his delight, stating: “We believe in VKU’s philosophy of practice-oriented education and are proud to have partnered with the University to build a program that is both in-depth and truly effective. Here, students do not simply learn Japanese or technology – they are also equipped with essential skills to thrive in an international working environment, including a professional mindset, communication abilities, adaptability, and global collaboration. Notably, through strong connections with Japanese companies, many students have been recruited to work remotely on real-world projects. As of now, 16 students are actively working with four Japanese enterprises, while 12 others are currently in the interview process with three additional companies. These students have been highly praised – not only for their technical expertise and language proficiency, but also for their work ethic and professional attitude. One student has even been assessed as having skills equivalent to a Japanese engineer – something we are incredibly proud of. Today’s achievements are the result of joint efforts by both VKU and NiX Education, driven by the dedication of students eager to learn, by lecturers who give their heart to teaching, and by companies willing to believe in new ideas and the potential of Vietnamese IT students. We are committed to continuing our long-term partnership with VKU – to expand opportunities, strengthen mutual trust, and write new success stories for the next generation of global Vietnamese engineers.”

Ribbon-cutting session for the Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space)

The opening of the Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space) was not only a key highlight in VKU’s journey toward international integration, but also a vivid testament to the University’s strategic vision, strong commitment, and its ability to build meaningful partnerships with leading Japanese organizations in education and technology.

With the strong and enduring support of NiX Education and reputable Japanese enterprises, VKU continues to affirm its pioneering position as a leading public university in technology, constantly innovating its training models, taking the lead in bilingual education, and promoting international collaboration. From VJIT Space – a hub that fosters innovation and practical connection – generations of VKU students will not only grow in knowledge, skills, and language proficiency, but also be fully prepared to become global engineers: confident, adaptable, and ready to lead the digital future of the region and the world.

With the values it has created and continues to build, VKU is committed to further strengthening partnerships with Japanese collaborators in the journey to elevate high-quality human resources, contributing to the sustainable development and shared prosperity of both Vietnam and Japan in this era of deep international integration.
