VKU organizes the 2025–2026 academic year leadership and management conference: Aspiration to reach global standards and shape the future

On the afternoon of August 29, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, held the Leadership and Management Conference to review the 2024–2025 academic year and to implement the directions for the 2025–2026 academic year under the theme VKU: Go Global – Lead the Future. The conference holds significant meaning, aiming to evaluate and summarize the performance of the 2024–2025 academic year, seriously assess and identify the causes of any limitations or shortcomings, and thereby establish appropriate operational directions for the upcoming academic year. It also served as an opportunity for the university’s leadership and management to contribute ideas for building and developing the institution’s educational mission.

Overview of the Conference

Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council; Vice Rectors: Dr. Tran The Son, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, along with all leaders of political and social organizations, heads of departments, faculties, centers, and other affiliated units of the University.

Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, on behalf of the University’s leadership, congratulated the collective leadership and staff for their unity, dedication, and aspiration for the university’s educational mission throughout the past academic year, acknowledging their tireless contributions to achieving certain successes.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the University received strong attention, leadership, and direction from the leadership of the University of Danang (UD), the Party Committee, the University Council, and the University’s Board of Rectors; the unity and dedication of the entire staff and faculty enabled the University to successfully implement and complete 3 major orientations and 59 key tasks, achieving outstanding results across 12 operational groups of the University, such as: organizing 2024 student admissions with 1,500 enrollment slots for 16 majors/specializations, achieving a 100% enrollment rate and entrance scores increasing by 2–3 points compared to 2023, notably, Semiconductor Design had a benchmark score of 27, ranking among the top nationwide, and the 2025 admission result with 1,618 successful applicants; students’ academic performance at good or above levels accounted for a high percentage; employment rate at graduation was over 60%, and over 91% after one year; launching 4 new majors/specializations: Financial Technology, Data Analytics, Game Technology, and Automotive Software Engineering; accelerating the implementation of the USD 7.7 million ODA project funded by the Korean Government; investing in and putting into operation the VKU Fintech Hub, smart Korean language classrooms, and the Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space); enhancing student management, enabling two-way communication between the University and students’ families through the parent information portal; expanding partnerships with many domestic and international enterprises, strengthening collaboration between enterprises and the University in training, improving students’ English, Japanese, Korean language abilities and skills; successfully organizing many major international scientific conferences such as CITA 2025 (for the first time held in Cambodia) and seminars on Blockchain, AI, Semiconductor Design, Fintech, etc.; expanding internship activities, academic exchange, and cultural exchange between VKU lecturers and students and universities in Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan with nearly 200 participants; organizing many major academic and intellectual competitions at international and national levels such as the Vietnam International Mathematical Competition (VIMC 2025), the Central Highlands Olympiad in Informatics, the Cybersecurity Contest (DDC), the National Youth Informatics Contest, etc.; many students achieved high results in international and national competitions on entrepreneurship and innovation; strengthening recruitment of high-quality lecturers with strong professional expertise; completing the organizational structure; maintaining order and discipline in training activities; expanding communications and promoting the University’s brand widely within the community; improving the green – clean – beautiful campus environment, strongly applying digital transformation in all management and operational activities of the University;… and other related tasks.

Unit leaders are contributing ideas

In the 2025–2026 academic year, with new opportunities and challenges, VKU has set out 7 major tasks as follows: Continue to maintain discipline, order, unity, and solidarity; restructure the organizational system, leadership–management apparatus, and human resources; Continue modernizing the University and promote autonomy in governance – administration, infrastructure facilities; training content – methods, digital transformation – technology; human resources – capacity – skills; environment – space; enhance the quality of training, student management – support, expand – diversify training and research fields; ake breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation; promote internationalization – global integration; build a happy university rich in VKU’s cultural identity with the spirit of service, cooperation, kindness, no blame-shifting, quality, integrity, respect, appreciation, harmony, generosity, self-respect, and pride. From these major tasks, VKU has also proposed 9 solution groups and 37 specific tasks in the University’s management and operations, striving to successfully accomplish the objectives of the 2025–2026 academic year.

In that spirit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, called upon the leadership and management team to continue promoting the spirit of unity, positivity, and proactiveness in their work, excellently fulfill the tasks of the 2025–2026 academic year, and maintain the University’s stability and development in the future.
