VKU Organizes Graduation Thesis and Project Defense for Cohort 2021: Affirming Training Quality, Global Integration Capacity, and Student Competence in the Digital Era

On January 10–11, 2026, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, organized the Graduation Thesis and Project Defense for students of Cohort 2021. This significant milestone marks the completion of the academic journey of 681 students across key majors, while serving as vivid evidence of VKU’s training quality, strong commitment to international integration, and practice-oriented education.

This year’s graduation defense was organized on a large scale in a professional and rigorous manner, comprising 42 specialized panels and 529 theses and graduation projects. Nearly 150 council members–including lecturers, scientists, and experienced experts from VKU, member universities of The University of Danang, Hue University, and enterprises in Danang–participated in evaluating, reviewing, and providing in-depth feedback on each topic. Notably, VKU organized online defense panels for students undertaking one-year graduation internships in Japan, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and international connectivity in academic organization.

Students participating in the defense came from VKU’s key training fields, including Information Technology with majors such as Software Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Networks and Information Security, IoT Robotics, Multimedia Design, and Digital Art Design; Computer Engineering Technology; and Business Administration with majors in E-commerce Management and Digital Marketing. This diversity of disciplines reflects the interdisciplinary, application-oriented, and creative training ecosystem that VKU is gradually developing and strengthening.

The academic quality and technological depth of this year’s projects were highly appreciated by the evaluation councils, particularly for their practicality and applicability. In the fields of Information Technology and Computer Engineering Technology, many topics focused on core technologies of the digital era such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Big Data, and AIoT to address specific challenges in smart healthcare, high-tech agriculture, facial and behavior recognition, natural language processing, as well as advanced solutions for cybersecurity monitoring, prevention, and analysis. Many projects demonstrate strong potential for further development into complete systems that closely meet the practical needs of enterprises and society.

In the fields of Digital Art Design and Multimedia Design, students demonstrated strong creative thinking, user research skills, and product implementation capacity through projects on brand identity design, UI/UX, digital communication products, and creative graphics, clearly reflecting personal identity and professional spirit. Meanwhile, projects in Business Administration focused on e-commerce, digital marketing, the development of digital communication strategies, omnichannel sales optimization, and brand development on digital platforms, demonstrating students’ strong responsiveness to market demands and modern business trends.

A notable highlight of Cohort 2021 graduation defense was the high requirement for foreign language proficiency, reaffirming VKU’s strong commitment to outcome standards aligned with international integration. Accordingly, 100% of graduation theses and projects were written entirely in English, and more than 70% of the topics were presented and defended in English. Notably, many students from the Japanese–Vietnamese and Korean–Vietnamese bilingual programs demonstrated fluent and parallel use of two foreign languages during the defense, clearly reflecting the effectiveness of the multilingual training model implemented by the University. Beyond academic requirements, the defense outcomes also reflected strong graduate quality aligned with labor market demands. Many students of cohort 2021 had secured positions at technology enterprises, corporations, and major companies both domestically and internationally even before the graduation defense period. In particular, most students enrolled in global training programs had been officially recruited; many are currently working overseas and were supported by the University to conduct their graduation thesis and project defenses online, ensuring academic progress and compliance with academic standards.

The graduation thesis and project defense is not only the final assessment of the training process but also a “launchpad” enabling VKU Cohort 2021 students to confidently enter the global labor market, affirming their competence, knowledge, and adaptability in the digital era. With a solid academic foundation, an innovative mindset, and strong integration capacity, VKU students are expected to continue serving as high-quality human resources, making positive contributions to the development of enterprises, communities, and society.
