VKU organizes a conference on student management, care and support for the 2024-2025 academic year to innovate management and support students for comprehensive development
On the morning of February 15, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang (UD) held a Conference on student management, care and support for the 2024-2025 school year.
Conference Overview
Attending the Conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Party Committee Secretary, Rector; Vice Rectors: Dr. Tran The Son, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho; along with Leaders of Departments, Faculties, Centers and more than 200 VKU’s staff and lecturers.

At the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University emphasized the importance of student care in the context of modern education.
With nearly 7,000 students studying at VKU, the University has constantly innovated and improved the quality of management and support to create the best conditions for students in studying, practicing and developing skills with outstanding results in recent years such as implementing the activity of Head Lecturer combined with academic advisor to quickly answer questions about students’ studies and life; financial support from the budget of UD and VKU; and sponsorship from partners through scholarship programs for students; organizing the activities of nearly 20 Clubs, Teams, Groups from professional activities to cultural, sports, and volunteer activities to create playgrounds, practice soft skills, help students connect with each other; sponsoring students to participate in international internship programs, student exchanges in advanced countries such as: the UK, Korea, Japan, Thailand with more than 100 students going abroad in 2024; Support students to participate and achieve high results in international and national competitions from professional activities, scientific research to start-up and innovation activities; deploy academic playgrounds associated with training programs such as Robocar Creativity Competition, Best Web Design (BWD), English Talent Competition (ETC), Program: Incubation of innovation and start-up ideas (PISI), Artificial Intelligence (AI for Life); Organizing student participation in internship programs and professional fieldwork; improving the campus landscape to be green, clean, and beautiful; upgrading sports areas, dormitories, and cafeterias to enhance the quality of life and learning environment for students.
Meanwhile, VKU is also actively developing and implementing the Parent Information Portal, allowing families to easily monitor students’ academic progress, training, and activities at the university. This system provides detailed information on academic results, disciplinary status, and important announcements from the university while serving as an effective communication channel between parents and VKU. Through this, parents can closely support, guide, and accompany their children, contributing to improved training quality and students’ holistic development. Additionally, the Youth Union has proactively launched various programs and movements, notably the “VKU Youth – 3 Goods (Good Study, Good Training, Good Integration) and 3 Knows (Know to Greet, Know to Apologize, Know to Thank)”. This movement aims to guide and encourage VKU students to continuously develop themselves, cultivate a professional attitude, and foster a positive mindset both within the university and in society. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of the university’s leadership, faculty, and student support units, contributing to the creation of a high-quality and student-friendly learning environment.

In the 2024-2025 school year, VKU aims to further improve the quality of student management, support and care with key directions such as: Strengthening student consulting services, expanding scholarship policies, innovating extracurricular activity models, enhancing business connections, improving student service infrastructure and seeking funding sources to increase development opportunities for students with 10 specific solutions such as:
- Transition from student management to student care and support.
- Improve the role of academic advisors and head teacher: Implement an online handbook, enhance responsibilities, and establish an evaluation and reward system.
- Develop and pilot a student class management model: Organize extracurricular class meetings at least once per semester.
- Strengthen political, ideological, ethical, and lifestyle education for students.
- Faculties to organize student dialogues at least once per semester.
- Enhance connections between the university, students, and families through information channels such as online parent meetings, Zalo groups, and the parent portal.
- Implement a one-stop service model for faster processing of student requests and inquiries.
- Leverage IT applications in student management, including a counseling hotline and an online Q&A portal.
- Improve campus facilities, including the construction of more public spaces and recreational areas for students.
- Establish a psychological counseling space and form a specialized student support team.
