VKU is determined to train high-quality human resources for the global market: strengthening cooperation with Japanese enterprises

On the morning of December 4, 2024, Vietnam – Korea University of Technology and Communication (VKU), Danang University had a meeting and worked with enterprises from Japan to discuss cooperation in Japanese language training and recruitment of students in the information technology industry.

Overview of the working session with Japanese enterprises

Attending the working session, on the side of Japanese enterprises, there were Mr. Murayama Masaru – General Director of Kyoto Healthycare IT Joint Stock Company, Mr. Yamashita Kiyotaka – Director of Kyoto Healthycare IT Joint Stock Company, Mr. Hamamoto Makoto – General Director of GLD-LAB Joint Stock Company, Mr. Mizuochi Kento – Director of Porters Asia Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Sato Yoshikazu – Head of IT&DX Strategy Department, Withus Joint Stock Company and Ms. Izutsu Mihoko – Global Business Operations Department, Withus Joint Stock Company; on the side of Nix Education, there were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – General Director and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong – Training Director; on the side of VKU, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, and Leaders of the constituent units of the University.

Chairing the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU Rector was pleased to welcome Japanese enterprises who visited and worked at VKU. The Rector shared that VKU always clearly defines its mission and responsibility in training, providing high-quality human resources, scientific research, knowledge and technology transfer with the vision of becoming the leading university in the country having the aspiration to reach international standards in the fields of training and research; operating according to an advanced management and a modern – smart university model. With the strength of being a university specializing in Information Technology with nearly 7,000 students, VKU recruits 1,500 additional quotas every year with very high entrance scores – an average of 24 points for all 16 training majors/specializations. This is a source of high-quality information technology human resources to meet the current demand for human resources. VKU has been cooperating with many Japanese partners to organize training courses in Information Technology with Japanese enhancement, in which the Information Technology Engineering course with Japanese enhancement in cooperation with NiX Education has achieved many outstanding results, being an effective training cooperation model that has conducted 3 courses with nearly 150 students. Accordingly, many excellent students achieved Japanese level N3, N2 after 1-year study and are participating in internships and part-time work at Japanese enterprises. At the meeting, VKU shared and suggested that Japanese enterprises interested in this program consider some proposals: (1) pay attention to the policy of supporting Japanese language training tuition fees so that students can study in comfort, (2) arrange a standing coordination department and Japanese language instructors at the office, (3) increase investment in facilities to create a learning environment appropriate for Japanese culture and working style, (4) propose collaborative research projects for VKU lecturers and students to access the reality of enterprises, (5) connect VKU to enterprises in Japan. VKU commits to accompany and create the best conditions for Japanese enterprises to effectively implement cooperation programs. The university always gives top priority to enhancing Japanese language training, building classes suitable for enterprise standards, and developing applied research projects to improve students’ capacity. These efforts not only contribute to meeting the demand for high-quality IT human resources but also promote the long-term partnership between VKU and Japanese enterprises.

The working session ended in a friendly atmosphere, marking an important step forward in VKU’s international cooperation relationship. With special attention from leading Japanese enterprises, especially specific proposals from representatives of Kyoto Healthycare IT, GLD-LAB, Porters Asia Vietnam, and Withus, VKU expects to bring outstanding achievements in the coming time in building a modern educational environment, linking closely to enterprises and accompanying students on the path of career development and international reach.
