VKU inaugurates the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering (Course 3), in collaboration with NiX Education
Following the success of the first two courses of the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering, on the morning of December 4, 2024, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, in collaboration with NiX Education, held the opening ceremony for the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering (Course 3 – 23JIT).
Overview of the opening ceremony
Attending the ceremony, representatives from NiX Education included Mr. Nguyen Trọng Nghia, CEO, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Training Director; from VKU, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector, along with faculty members and students from Courses 21, 22, and the new students of Course 23JIT (77 students).
There were also representatives from Japanese enterprises, including Mr. Murayama Masaru – General Director of Kyoto Healthycare IT Joint Stock Company, Mr. Yamashita Kiyotaka – Director of Kyoto Healthycare IT Joint Stock Company, Mr. Hamamoto Makoto – General Director of GLD-LAB Joint Stock Company, Mr. Mizuochi Kento – Director of Porters Asia Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Sato Yoshikazu – Head of IT&DX Strategy Department, Withus Joint Stock Company and Ms. Izutsu Mihoko – Global Business Operations Department, Withus Joint Stock Company.

In his speech, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU, congratulated 77 students on participating in the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering – Course 3 (23JIT) and expressed his gratitude to NiX Education for their support in implementing this program. This is a significant milestone, affirming the success of the cooperation between VKU and NiX Education to train high-quality human resources that meet the increasing demands of both domestic and international labor markets, especially in Japan.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, CEO of NiX Education, expressed his joy and pride in the outstanding results achieved by the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering. With 77 students in Course 3 (23JIT), the total number of students in the program has reached nearly 150. Notably, 20 students have been recruited by Japanese companies, with one student being assessed at the equivalent level of a Japanese engineer, and recently, four students were recruited by GLD-LAB with very positive feedback. The program has also achieved impressive results, with many students reaching Japanese language proficiency levels N3 and N2 after just one year of study. These students not only confidently use Japanese in their work but also excel in professional skills, problem-solving thinking, and proactivity. These achievements are a testament to the effective cooperation between NiX Education and VKU, contributing to the creation of a high-quality workforce ready to integrate into the international market. A representative from Japanese enterprises – Mrs. Izumi Nakagaki from DG Feelist Corporation (a company specializing in system development, web services, and website design for businesses in Japan) expressed recognition and high appreciation for the abilities of students participating in the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering. VKU students not only demonstrate strong professional expertise but also possess outstanding Japanese communication skills. In particular, their eagerness to learn, proactivity, and ability to quickly adapt to professional work environments are remarkable. Mrs. Nakagaki expressed hope that more outstanding students from this program will become valuable members of the company, contributing to its development and establishing their position in the international work environment.
Nguyen Tung Lam – a representative student of class 22JIT is sharing his thoughts
Representing class 23JIT, student Nguyen Tung Lam shared: “After experiencing of the program, I realize that the Japanese-Vietnamese Bilingual Program of Information Technology Engineering, organized by VKU and NiX Education, is an extremely valuable opportunity for study and development. The program provides us with a clear learning pathway, advanced teaching methods, and the guidance of experienced instructors. Not only does the program provide in-depth training in specialized knowledge, but it also helps us effectively approach the Japanese language through a combination of study and practice. Especially, applying Japanese in IT field has opened up practical perspectives for us, making us more confident in integrating into professional and global working environments.”
According to the plan, 77 students of class 23JIT (course 3), selected from nearly 200 students of the 2023 Information Technology program, will study Japanese alongside their specialized curriculum at the university. With a total of 1,200 hours of Japanese language training, upon graduation, students will be proficient in Japanese, achieving at least N3 level and capable of communicating in Japanese with partners on IT project implementation and related projects. Additionally, students will be supported in updating their specialized knowledge in technology to work in Japanese organizations and enterprises, as well as in modern international environments, meeting the demands of society and the economy of Vietnam in the process of international integration, while also having the opportunity to continue studying and conducting research at higher levels.
