VKU Collaborates with Unitec Electronics Co.,Ltd, Japan to Enhance Training and Project Implementation for Computer Engineering Students
On the afternoon of July 10, 2024, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, had a meeting with Unitec Electronics Co.,Ltd, Japan to discuss cooperation in training, project implementation, and recruitment of computer engineering talents.
Overview of the Meeting
Attending the meeting, on behalf of Unitec Electronics, Japan, there were Mr. Iida Morikiho – Director; Mr. Matsugana Hiroshi – Head of Business Department; Mr. Tran Nhu Hoai – Director of NAL Solutions. On behalf of VKU, there was Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector, along with the leaders of various departments, faculties, and centers of the University.

Chairing the reception, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector, warmly welcomed the leaders of Unitec Electronics to VKU. The Vice Rector shared that VKU is always committed to its mission and responsibility in providing high-quality human resources, conducting scientific research, transferring knowledge and technology, with the vision of becoming a leading university in the country and aspiring to reach international levels in training and research fields. VKU operates under an advanced governance model, aiming to be a modern and smart university. With strengths in Information Technology, Communication, and Digital Economy, VKU has over 6,000 students, enrolling 1,500 new students each year. This creates a high-quality tech-savvy workforce that meets current human resource demands. VKU has been collaborating with many Japanese partners to organize IT classes with enhanced Japanese language skills, including a notable collaboration with NiX Education for Japanese-language IT engineering classes, which has achieved remarkable results and can be expanded in the future.
In the field of Computer Engineering, VKU is currently offering a Computer Engineering Technology program, with an annual enrollment target of 120 students and an average entrance score of 24 points. The teaching staff is highly specialized, experienced, and well-trained from advanced countries such as Japan, Korea, Poland, France, Germany, etc. VKU is currently training nearly 500 Computer Engineering graduates with in-depth knowledge in analyzing, designing, and testing electronic circuits, microchips, embedded systems, intelligent systems, and automation.

At the meeting, Mr. Iida Morikiho – Director of Unitec Electronics, Japan, expressed his gratitude to the university leaders for their warm reception and shared about Unitec Electronics. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Osaka, Japan, Unitec specializes in designing and developing electronic devices (Artwork design), producing circuit boards, packaging, assembling, and trading various electronic components and devices. Unitec is also involved in projects in Vietnam, such as providing electronic equipment for fishing boats in Binh Dinh province and participating in supplying electronic devices in Ho Chi Minh City. After thorough research, UNITEC found that VKU can adequately meet their human resource needs and expressed their desire to collaborate with VKU to jointly train and develop high-quality human resources and implement projects in the field of electronic circuit design and development in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the university leaders welcomed the collaboration and were ready to expand cooperation, providing the best conditions for UNITEC to soon access, orient, and introduce learning, internship, and employment opportunities for students in the Computer Engineering Technology field.
