UD and VKU delegation visited to Fintech Cube Financial Center, South Korea for orientation on Fintech training at VKU
Continuing their business trip in South Korea, on the morning of May 29, 2024, the delegation from the University of Da Nang (UD) and the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (UD-VKU) visited the Fintech Cube (FC) Financial Center in South Korea. The purpose of the visit was to learn about its operational model to orient the development of the Fintech program at VKU in the near future.

The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of UD; Assoc. Prof. PhD Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU; Assoc. Prof. PhD Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Council of VKU; PhD. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU; representatives from UD’s International Cooperation Department and VKU’s Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department.
Fintech Cube, established in 2017 under the Korean Ministry of Finance, serves as an incubation space supporting the scaling and domestic/overseas expansion of FinTech start-up corporates. FinTech Cube provides customized FinTech-specialized fostering programs for prospective FinTech start-up founders with original ideas and promising FinTech corporates with innovative technologies and service.
FinTech Cube, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, provides an open space (11F), individual rooms (12F), meeting rooms, test bedroom, Innovative Financial Services Zone, 1+1 support services, and more. FC has been implementing numerous digital financial innovation projects and technological innovations with small and medium enterprises, supporting these companies to adapt to the digital business and technology environment. Each year, FC reviews and selects 20-40 companies based on their feasibility, offering location support, cloud system support, insurance costs, and participation in FC’s joint programs.
Notably, FC offers special training programs through five steps:
- Training: Provides practical training to enhance capacity of resident companies (Finance/Accounting, Financial app trends, Invest SkillUp, English IR Deck, etc)
- Mentoring: Mentoring Program in Connection with 4 Educational Fields
- Demo Day: Expand Opportunity to Attract Investment for New Start-Ups. Direct investment program using KACC FinTech Innovation Fund.
- Networking: Provides networking opportunities for scale up and to revitalize the Fintech industry.
- Global Expansion: Construct a network between local Fintech companies and related institutes to the global market and provide customized consulting service on overseas expansion.
At the end of the visit to FC, the delegation gained many practical experiences and developed a better understanding of the financial technology center’s operational model, training programs, and more. This knowledge will help orient the construction and development of the Fintech training program at VKU in the future.
