The 2024-2025 academic year, marking VKU’s 5-year journey of establishment and development, presents new opportunities and challenges. VKU has identified three major orientations for this milestone year: Promoting digital transformation by applying information technology and artificial intelligence; strengthening cooperation and internationalization of activities; and building a happy university that embodies VKU’s culture, rooted in the educational philosophy of “Humanity – Dedication – Liberation” and its core value system of “Prestige – Quality – Professionalism.” From these orientations, VKU has outlined 59 key tasks and solutions across 16 management and operational areas, aiming to successfully complete its objectives for the academic year. Highlights include diversifying enrollment consultation strategies to maintain stable targets for 2024, developing strategic training programs such as IC Design, Financial Technology (Fintech), and Digital Media, as well as introducing new training majors and minors. VKU will effectively implement Master of Information Technology programs, 2+2, and 3+1 international joint training programs in collaboration with leading universities in Korea, Japan, and other developed countries. The university also plans to conduct self-assessments of higher education institutions to prepare for accreditation of two programs under AUN-QA standards. In addition, VKU will further strengthen partnerships with businesses, establishing a Community Fund supported by contributions from enterprises, organizations, and individuals to provide scholarships and awards for students. Recruitment efforts will focus on enhancing the team of lecturers and teaching assistants, while striving to increase staff income by 7-10% compared to 2023-2024. Facility improvements include campus planning, landscaping, tree planting, and internal road renovations, as well as repairs and upgrades to buildings, lecture halls, and dormitories. Particularly noteworthy is the on-schedule implementation of Project for strengthening the academic development of VKU with regard to ICT education, research and governance for the period 2022-2026″, funded by Korean Government through an ODA. With this forward-looking spirit, the Rector calls on all staff and employees to continue fostering solidarity, positivity, and initiative in their work.
