The grand final of the fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands, 2023
On March 17, 2023, The grand final of the fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands was hosted by Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang, in collaboration with the Vietnam Informatics Association, ICPC Vietnam, Da Nang Department of Education and Training and Le Quy Don Specialized High School. This is an attractive and useful playground, promoting the passion to learn, update, practice and create programming solutions, contributing to providing high quality human resources in the future for the Central – Central Highlands region in particular and the whole country in general.

The fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands was held through 2 rounds, the preliminary round in the form of online competition on March 4, 2023 with more than 2,000 students from 281 secondary and high schools from 63 provinces/cities nationwide participating in 03 Groups: Super Cup Group (For students on the team who participate in the National Excellent Informatics Student Contest); specialist Group (for specialized/selected Informatics students in specialized high schools) and Semi-specialist Group(for the remaining).
With the cooperation of the prestigious experts of the Vietnam Informatics Association, ICPC Vietnam and VKU, the qualifying questions have been built in a serious, quality, highly classified manner and ensure accurate and fair results. Based on the results of the tests, the Organizing Committee and the Judging Committee selected 893 best contestants who will attend the grand finale, including 97 Super Cup Group contestants, 337 Specialist Group contestants and 459 Semi-Specialist Group contestants.
The Vietnam Informatics Association and ICPC Vietnam highly welcome and support the Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands, an annual programming contest, to ensure that it is in accordance with national and international standards, Mr. Nguyen Long – Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Informatics Association.
The opening ceremony of the fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands was held directly at the University of Information and Communication Technology at 13:00 on March 17, 2023 with 508 contestants going to the competition directly (onsite) and 385 contestants going to the competition online (online).
Content and final contest questions:
Programming languages: Pascal, C, Python, C++.
Super Cup Group: according to the format and content of the National Excellent Students exam.
Specialized Group: according to the Specialized High School Program in Informatics in 2009 of the Ministry of Education and Training. The exam questions follow the pattern of the Good Students contest in the Coastal and the Northern Delta and approach the exam questions of the National Excellent Students exam.
Semi-specialist Group exam questions: according to the current Informatics program of the secondary and high schools of the Ministry of Education and Training and with advanced.
All exam questions are of high quality, reliability, confidentiality and are given by the Board of Proposals consisting of reputable experts nominated by the Vietnam Informatics Association and ICPC Vietnam. Leading the work is Mr. Nguyen Long, Vice President and General Secretary of Vietnam Informatics Association, Director of ICPC Vietnam. In charge of expertise is Assoc. Prof. Do Phan Thuan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Dr. Do Duc Dong (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
The fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands Awards:
The total prize money of the fourth Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands is given to awarded students up to 100,000,000 VND (One hundred million dong).
In addition, students who win the First, Second and Third prizes are prioritized for direct admission to the University as well as receive other benefits according to the direct admission regulations of Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology –the University of Da Nang (https://vku.udn.vn and http://tuyensinh.vku.udn.vn/) and other universities with own admission.
The closing ceremony and awarding of the Olympiad in Informatics in the Central and Central Highlands will take place at 9:00 on March 18, 2023.
