Strategic partnership between VKU and Wacom: Open digital creative opportunities for students

On the morning of December 13, 2024, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wacom, the world’s leading brand in digital drawing tablets. The event also featured a series of activities, including the workshop “Game Outsourcing – Opportunities and Development” and the drawing competition “Try Wacom – Challenge Creativity.” This milestone not only offered valuable insights into the field of game outsourcing but also marked a significant step in the strategic partnership between VKU and its collaborators, creating new opportunities for students in the digital creative era.

The event was attended by representatives from Wacom Vietnam and UCSS, including Ms. Ho Mai Ngoc (Country Manager), Ms. Chau Nguyen (Country Executive), Ms. Van Pham (Marketing Manager), and Mr. Le Tan Hao Quy (Sales Manager). On VKU’s side, there was Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho (Vice Rector), representatives from various departments, and a large number of students.

Ms. Ho Mai Ngoc – Country Manager of Wacom Vietnam, expressed her gratitude for VKU’s hospitality and collaboration. She introduced Wacom Singapore, a subsidiary of Japan-based Wacom, a global leader in digital drawing devices and creative solutions. Serving as the Southeast Asia regional headquarters, Wacom Singapore oversees business operations and provides technical support in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Wacom’s product portfolio includes graphic tablets, pen displays, and digital pen solutions, widely used in creative industries such as design, animation, digital arts, and education. Additionally, Wacom organizes events, workshops, and activities with partnerships to promote creativity and application of digital technology across the region.

Accordingly, the MoU between VKU and Wacom Singapore focuses on developing digital talent and providing practical opportunities for students in fields such as multimedia arts, animation, and graphic design. Meanwhile, VKU will contribute facilities, personnel, and implement creative projects. VKU students participated in the “Try Wacom – Challenge Creativity ” Drawing Contest

Previously, the “Try Wacom – Challenge Creativity” Drawing Contest took place with enthusiastic participation from VKU students. The competition was not only a platform to showcase creative talent but also helped participants apply the Wacom drawing tablet to digital design in practice. The final results – the Special Prize was awarded to student Nguyen Thi Ha Giang from Class 22MC, who received a Wacom One S (CTC-4110WL) drawing tablet worth 2.5 million VND, along with three Consolation Prizes, each accompanied by special gifts from Wacom.
