Ready4AI – VKU students are ready to master the era of Artificial Intelligence
On the morning of September 6, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Danang University hosted the Ready4AI Workshop – a program in the journey to prepare 10,000 Danang students for the era of Artificial Intelligence under the coordination of the Department of Science and Technology of Danang City, VKU and DevPlus Company.
Overview of the workshop
The event welcomed Mr. Kim Kwang Hwee – Director of Operations at SphereAX Vietnam (Korea), and Mr. Dang Thai Hai – Representative of Reasonary AI, who previously worked as an Amazon Engineer and Tech Lead at Meta, as guest speakers. Representing VKU and the co-organizing units were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of the university, Mr. Pham Vu Huy Hoang – CEO of DevPlus, Mr. Bui Ngoc Vinh – Chairman of the Danang Software Entrepreneurs Association (DSEC), together with representatives from various affiliated and subordinate units of the university and nearly 200 VKU students.

In his remarks, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho highlighted: “VKU always determines its pioneering role in preparing high-quality technological human resources for society. With AI, we want our students to go beyond using tools – to develop a mindset that applies technology creatively, humanely, and responsibly. Ready4AI is one of the activities that helps students engage with reality, build connections with businesses, and prepare essential skills for global integration.”
Mr. Pham Vu Huy Hoang – CEO of DevPlus shared valuable insights
Representing DevPlus, CEO Mr. Pham Vu Huy Hoang highlighted that Ready4AI has established a framework for human capacity in the AI era by integrating mindset, skills, and technology. In this way, the program enables students to build a personal development plan and offers them opportunities to connect with relevant businesses, boosting their competitiveness in the labor market.
Two speakers delivered presentations on AI
In the main session, Mr. Kim Kwang Hwee – Director of Operations of SphereAX Vietnam opened with the topic “Smart and Safe Life with AI“, emphasizing that AI not only brings convenience to work and life but also contributes to building a safe, smart and sustainable society. Sharing examples from Korea in areas like transportation, healthcare, urban management, and security, he inspired Vietnamese students to confidently experiment and design practical solutions for the benefit of their communities. The program then welcomed Mr. Dang Thai Hai – Representative of Reasonary AI, with previous experience as an Amazon Engineer and Tech Lead at Meta – who shared the topic “From Silicon Valley to Danang.” His talk delivered a realistic perspective on the profound transformations of the IT industry in the age of Artificial Intelligence. From his experience at top global technology corporations, he emphasized that students need to be equipped with global capacity: solid expertise, sharp critical thinking, the ability to collaborate across cultures, and an enduring spirit of continuous learning. Both speakers affirmed that AI will not replace humans, but will serve as a powerful tool for those who know how to exploit creativity to generate value and expand international integration opportunities.
Overview of the Panel Discussion
In particular, the Panel Discussion on IT career orientation in the AI era brought a more comprehensive picture of opportunities and challenges in the new era. The discussion featured Mr. Kim Kwang Hwee, Mr. Dang Thai Hai, Mr. Bui Ngoc Vinh (Chairman of DSEC), and young representative Bui Xuan Thien (VKU alumnus and Full Stack Developer at ST United) who shared insights on essential skills, common mistakes in AI learning, and the outlook for global careers in the coming five years. The real-life stories, sincere advice and strategic vision from the speakers aroused excitement among VKU students, helping them to better define their career path. The “Ready4AI” program wrapped up with excitement and inspiration, leaving lasting positive impressions. With the knowledge, experience, and guidance gained, VKU students will move forward with greater confidence – ready to master technology, become pioneers in the AI era, and seize global opportunities.
