Outstanding VKU students win FPT Software scholarships after two years in Korean-Vietnamese Bilingual IT Engineering Program
On August 18, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, together with FPT Software Central Region, honored 13 outstanding students from the first cohort of the Korean-Vietnamese Bilingual IT Engineering Program (21KIT), awarding scholarships with a total value of 80 million VND. This marks a significant achievement after more than two years of diligent study, personal development, and pursuit of new knowledge by VKU students.
Program overview and objectives
The collaborative program between VKU and FPT Software Central Region was launched in 2023, with the goal of training IT engineers who are not only technically competent but also proficient in foreign languages, preparing them to integrate globally and serve as bridge engineers. Students enrolled in the program receive nearly 300 hours of intensive Korean language training alongside specialized coursework. The program is also supported by the enterprise through tuition sponsorship, textbooks, and practical internship opportunities.
9 students achieve TOPIK levels 3–5
In just two years of training, many students have achieved outstanding results in both academic and language proficiency. Notably, student Tran Chanh Tin achieved TOPIK level 5, while students Vo Nhu Quynh, Le Thi Ngoc Ly, and Nguyen Thi Tieu Tien reached level 4. Additionally, students Le Van Hanh, Tran Tuan Tai, Phan Xuan Sy, Dinh Thi Lan Huong, and Tu Cong Minh achieved level 3. These accomplishments are clear evidence of the students’ rapid improvement in Korean language skills, alongside solid technical knowledge and work-related competencies.
3 students receive type A scholarships (10 million VND each)
In recognition of these efforts, FPT Software Central Region awarded motivational scholarships, including 3 Type A scholarships worth 10 million VND each, and 10 Type B scholarships worth 5 million VND each. These rewards not only honor the students’ hard work but also represent the company’s recognition of VKU’s high-quality human resource training.
In addition, many students from this program have passed FPT Software’s qualification assessments and have been accepted into paid internships, with opportunities to participate in real-world projects at FSOFT. This is a great opportunity for students to train and gain hands-on experience through real-world projects with the company, building a solid foundation for their future career development.
The success of the first cohort in the Korean-Vietnamese Bilingual IT Engineering Program is a testament to VKU’s international vision: to train a generation of engineers with strong technical expertise and language proficiency, ready to thrive in both domestic and international job markets – particularly in South Korea.
