On the morning of June 24, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) – The University of Danang held the Opening Ceremony of the International Student Exchange Program between VKU and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand. This annual event is organized based on the cooperation between VKU and KMUTNB with the aim of strengthening international collaboration, promoting academic exchange, and enhancing cultural exchange between Vietnam and Thailand. The program will take place from June 24 to June 29, 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony, from KMUTNB were Asst.Prof.Dr. Kanokchan Sanoppa – Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Digital Agro-Industry; Ms. Pranee Sroyprapai – Assistant Dean for Administration, Industrial Relations, and Corporate Communications, Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry; and Asst.Prof.Dr. Wongsakorn Wangsaroj – Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering. Representing VKU were Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector of VKU, heads of departments and centers, along with lecturers and 37 students from Vietnam, Thailand, and France who are participating in the program.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation of lecturers and students from KMUTNB to VKU for the “Innovation and Intercultural Exchange Camp 2025 – VKU-ISEP 2025.” He emphasized the great significance of this event, providing students of both universities the opportunity to gain experiences, enhance their academic knowledge, participate in cultural exchange, and improve their international integration skills.

VKU is a leading international public university specializing in training in information technology, communication, and digital economy, with enrolling students ranked among the top nationwide. VKU students have consistently achieved outstanding results in national and international academic competitions, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. With a student-centered approach, VKU’s educational activities aim to foster the comprehensive development of individuals, from professional skills to personal competencies. To strengthen its internationalization strategy, VKU has actively built connections with international universities and organized various academic exchange activities in recent years, helping students enrich their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and become confident in global integration. It is hoped that the VKU-ISEP: Innovation and Intercultural Exchange Camp 2025 will continue to serve as an important bridge for students from Vietnam and Thailand to explore, learn, and grow together in a multicultural, innovative, and integrative environment.

On behalf of the KMUTNB delegation, Dr. Kanokchan Sanoppa expressed sincere thanks to the leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of VKU for their thoughtful preparation and warm, heartfelt welcome. She expressed her hope that the academic exchange program between VKU and KMUTNB at VKU-ISEP: Innovation and Intercultural Exchange Camp 2025 would continue to be maintained, developed, and expanded with more diverse academic exchange activities in the future.

During the program, students from both universities will participate in activities such as incubating startup and innovation ideas through the PISI framework: design thinking, business model canvas, with topics focusing on information technology, tourism, and digital transformation. The student groups will be formed based on a combination of students from various disciplines of the two universities. Numerous activities such as discussions, programming, and presentations will help students enhance teamwork abilities, soft skills, and acquire new knowledge under the guidance and mentorship of lecturers from both VKU and KMUTNB, ultimately aiming to develop feasible and complete products.

In addition to academic exchange activities, students from both universities will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful view of Da Nang city and visit famous tourist destinations such a Hoi An Ancient Town and Ba Na Hills; engage in cultural exchanges, Vietnamese–Thai language sharing, and teambuilding activities to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and people.
