Nearly 300 students majoring in Information Technology and Computer Engineering Technology at VKU have successfully defended their graduation projects

On the mornings of January 13-14, 2024, at Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Computer Engineering & Electronics organized the graduation project defense ceremony for nearly 300 students majoring in Information Technology and Computer Engineering – Class of 2019. This is the 3rd course of VKU students who have completed the 4-5 years engineer training program on time.

More than 70 members participated in the evaluation councils for graduation projects, representing various universities and major enterprises

Participating in the graduation project defense evaluation councils this time are over 70 members from member universities of Da Nang University, Hue University, Quang Nam University, Kon Tum University and experts from companies in the central – highland region such as VNPT Da Nang, Synopsys, Digital Unicorn, Green Global, Axon Active, Enclave, Nova Square, D-Soft, … divided into 14 subcommittees with 221 councils (for Information Technology), and 02 subcommittees with 18 councils (for Computer Engineering Technology).

According to the training program for Information Technology Engineering and Computer Engineering Technology, the faculties have implemented the final graduation projects for the 2019-2023 academic year students and nearly 300 students are eligible to defend their projects. For the Information Technology major, the project topics focused on researching and applying technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and developing application systems in various socio-economic fields. As for Computer Engineering Technology majors, the topics focused on applying modern technologies, emerging algorithms to implement and improve the efficiency of IoT system models, object recognition and tracking robot models, self-driving vehicles, remotely controlled vehicles, traffic sign recognition systems, landslide warning systems, and so on.

Students’ project reports were entirely written in English, and many students presented their topics in front of the councils in English.

Each student participating in the project defense will have 20 minutes for presentation, demonstrate the product, and respond to questions and criticisms from the council members. Many projects with high practical applications have gained interest from businesses. Some of these topics involve real-world application products that students have actively contributed to within various enterprises.

Particularly noteworthy are projects that have resulted in the publication of up to 5 high-quality scientific papers in international journals listed in the eSCI/Scopus database, as well as in national and international scientific conferences. For instance, the project entitled “Advancing Healthcare through Artificial Intelligence: A Comprehensive Approach from Clinical Diagnosis to Clinical Intervention in Early Diagnosis” by the student group of Phạm Vũ Thu Nguyệt and Nguyễn Quang Chung from Class 19IT1; or the project named “Design and Construction of an Intelligent Greenhouse System” by student Lê Thiện Nhân from Class 19CE, which was supported by the company with funding and software to complete the product with high practical application value.
