MoU signing ceremony between VKU and Yeung Nam University, Korea
On February 28, 2023, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology held a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yeung Nam University, Korea. This event initiates international cooperation on academic exchange and training cooperation to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, contributing to the development of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea.

Attending the signing ceremony with the participation of both units’ representatives, including:
– On Yeung Nam University: Dr. Yeo Teak Dong – Vice Rector, Dr. Lee Hyun Cheol – Head of Student Abroad Department, International Cooperation.
– On the side of VKU: Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector with the University’ Faculty and the Department leaders.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU expressed his joy and excitement in the cooperation of VKU and Yeung Nam University. And also shared, VKU is a public university for training, scientific research, technology transfer, start-up activities in the field of information technology, communication, digital economy and related majors according to the applied university model to the smart and modern environment and advanced management methods, providing high-quality human resources for international integration and the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Currently, VKU has 14 training majors in engineering and bachelors; with a strong teaching staff, student scale of 5,000 and orientation of 8,000 students by 2025. Dr. Tran The Son believes that, after this signing ceremony, the relationship between the two Universities will be more close and cooperation activities will promote the effectiveness, potential and strength of each unit.

Dr. Yeo Teak Dong – Vice Rector of Yeung Nam University also thanked VKU’s welcome, confirming an international cooperation between the two universities and believing that the cooperation of the two universities will open up learning opportunities for students, innovate teaching methods, as well as implement student exchange programs, international cooperation, scientific research… bring together practical values to learners and society. Dr. Yeo Teak Dong hopes that in the future, the two universities will coordinate to implement a dual or transfer program in English or Korean to help VKU students have the opportunity to graduate and receive an international degree.
On the basis of the discussed contents, the leaders of the two units signed a cooperation agreement with the following contents:
1) Coordinate joint research and organize conferences and seminars
2) Develop and implement joint training programs
3) Exchange of teaching and research staff
4) Exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students
5) Exchange of scientific documents and other academic information.
Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology is currently a University in the national strategy for digital human resource development in the Central – Central Highlands, always with innovative development directions according to the needs of society. VKU hopes that the long-term and comprehensive cooperation with Yeung Nam University will bring opportunities to improve the effectiveness of learning, teaching and research, thereby contributing to the economic and social development of the Central Highlands region in particular and the whole country in general in the current Industrial Revolution 4.0.
