Launch of the Japanese Language Club at VKU: Cultural Experiences and Expanded Opportunities through the Japan–Vietnam Bilingual Engineering/Bachelor Program
On August 25, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, hosted the launch of the Japanese Language Club and the Vietnam–Japan Cultural Exchange event. The program attracted a large number of students across the university, especially those enrolled in the Japan–Vietnam Bilingual Information Technology Engineering/Bachelor Program, a corporate cooperation program between VKU and NiX Education JSC. With its youthful, dynamic atmosphere and strong spirit of learning, the event became a remarkable highlight in the students’ journey of study and cultural experience at VKU.
Event Overview
Students not only became familiar with the language through formal classes but also immersed themselves in the unique cultural atmosphere of the the Land of Cherry Blossoms (Land of the Rising Sun). Experience booths such as calligraphy, origami folding, Yukata dressing, and traditional Japanese games offered opportunities for hands-on learning, making language knowledge more vivid and approachable than ever.
Artist Vietnam Kun interacted with students in Japanese
The highlight of the program was the appearance of artist Vietnam Kun – a Japanese YouTuber, TikToker, and singer well-known among communities passionate about the Japanese language and culture in Vietnam. His lively interactions, inspiring music performances, and engaging stories created a strong source of motivation, fostering greater enthusiasm and confidence for VKU students on their journey to mastering Japanese.
Learning Japanese at VKU goes beyond the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is also closely linked with expanding future career opportunities. Japan is one of Vietnam’s key strategic partners in the field of Information Technology and many other industries; therefore, proficiency in Japanese will become a significant advantage for VKU students as they enter the international working environment.
In support of the event, NiX provided free access to its Digital LMS platform with a variety of learning tools exclusively for VKU students at https://digital.nix.edu.vn/register/student. Students can register to try out the Japanese alphabet courses (Hiragana & Katakana) as well as the N5 beginner-level Japanese program (Vocabulary – Grammar – Conversation).
From the launch of the Japanese Language Club to classroom learning, from cultural experiences to international exchanges, VKU students are constantly given opportunities to nurture their passion, broaden their knowledge, and affirm their global mindset. At VKU, Japanese is therefore not just a subject, but a gateway to integration and sustainable development for the younger generation.
