On the morning of August 2, 2025, the delegation of students from the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Danang officially departed to participate in the international academic and cultural exchange program “Research Partnership and Cross-Cultural Exchange” at National Formosa University (NFU), Taiwan. This marks the first time VKU students have participated in an academic exchange program in the Northeast Asia region – a significant step forward in the university’s comprehensive international integration strategy.

The program takes place from August 3 to 8, 2025, with the participation of five outstanding students representing VKU, including Nguyen Le Thao Quyen (Class 21EL, majoring in Logistics and Digital Supply Chain Management), Nguyen Xuan Phong (Class 22GIT, majoring in Software Technology, English-Vietnamese bilingual training program), Nguyen Ngoc Xuan Quynh and Do Phu Minh Duc (Class 23AI, majoring in Artificial Intelligence) and Le Anh Thanh Thanh (Class 24GDM, majoring in Marketing, English-Vietnamese bilingual training program). The students were selected through a rigorous process that assessed their academic achievements, foreign language proficiency, and exceptional communication and global thinking skills.

The program offers students a unique opportunity to experience Taiwan’s advanced learning environment and rich culture, while engaging in in-depth research and academic activities at NFU. Students will collaborate in groups with international peers, present research findings, visit high-tech laboratories and participate in various cultural exchange activities such as calligraphy workshops, sports exchanges, picnics and creative sessions. This is not only an academic experience but also a journey to practice life skills, enhance critical thinking, foster teamwork and embrace multicultural integration – core competencies of digital citizens in today’s era of globalization.

Notably, each student participating in the program receives financial support from the university through the ODA project “Improving Education, Training, Management, and Research Capacity of Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology in the period of 2022-2027”, funded by the Korean Government. This serves as concrete evidence of VKU’s commitment to practical and sustainable investment in providing students with opportunities to reach out to the world, access global knowledge, and demonstrate their capabilities in the international academic environment.

Previously, on July 28, 2025, the university organized an orientation session for the student delegation. During the meeting, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – VKU’s Vice Rector together with representatives from various departments, faculties, and centers directly discussed and encouraged the students, emphasizing their responsibility as representatives of VKU students in particular and Vietnamese students in general, embodying intelligence, courage, dynamism, and readiness for international integration. The meeting not only provided necessary information about the program but also reflected the university’s deep support and commitment to the students’ development and growth.

This trip not only contributes to expanding VKU’s strategic partner network in the Northeast Asia region, in addition to its existing partnerships in Korea, Thailand, the UK, and beyond but also continues to affirm the University’s strategic vision in building a modern, dynamic and pioneering international educational environment. Sending students to international academic exchange programs is a key initiative in VKU’s efforts to enhance training quality, develop high-tech human resources, and meet the demands of integration and sustainable development. Through this program, VKU students not only share their knowledge but also embody and spread the spirit of innovation, global integration, and the aspiration of Vietnam’s young generation to reach out to the world. This is truly a journey to broaden vision, enrich experiences, and inspire students to pursue great ambitions – becoming future international technology leaders, ready to make their mark anywhere in the world.
