From Classroom to Practice: VKU Students Explore Modern Supply Chains at Tan Cang (STC), Ho Chi Minh City
From September 8 to 13, 2025, students majoring in Digital Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, participated in a practical internship at Tan Cang Human Resource Development Co., Ltd. (STC), Cat Lai Port Area, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. This was an important hands-on learning activity, allowing students to directly experience the professional environment and connect classroom knowledge with real-world practices in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

During the program, 122 students (from cohorts 21 and 22) and faculty members took part in a variety of learning and experiential activities. Key highlights included exploring port operations and the roles of different departments within the logistics chain; practicing on transportation simulation systems with various scenarios such as Forwarder, Air Freight, and Beer Game; and learning about the FCL/LCL cargo handling process at the port. Notably, students also had the opportunity to visit and learn at Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD and Ajinomoto Factory (Dong Nai), which helped them better understand the connection between production, transportation, and distribution in a modern supply chain.
The internship was guided and accompanied by lecturers from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department. It not only helped students reinforce their knowledge but also train professional skills, observation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving in real situations. These valuable experiences serve as a strong foundation, motivating students on their academic journey and empowering them to establish themselves in the field of Digital Logistics and Supply Chain Management – a discipline playing a key role in the digital economy and global trade.

The engagement of enterprises in creating real-world experiences, the guidance and support from lecturers, together with students’ eagerness to learn and explore, made this a truly meaningful journey that bridged theory with practice. This stands as a testament to VKU’s educational philosophy: putting learners at the center, strengthening ties with businesses, and training high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of society in the digital era.
