Exciting VKU Campus Tour 2025: An opportunity for high school students to experience the university environment and their career dreams to be nurtured

In parallel with the Final Round of the sixth Informatics Olympiad in the Middle – Central Highlands, from March 22 to 23, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), Da Nang University welcomed nearly 2,000 students from high schools in Danang city, Hue city, and Quang Nam province to visit the university and take VKU Campus Tour of 2025. This is an annual activity held at VKU to help high school students have the opportunity to experience, have a better understanding of the university environment and shape their future careers with the joint-support of Hanwha Life and ChildFund Korea, Korea.

VKU is proud to be the leading public university in the Middle – Central Highlands region which specializes in training and doing research in Information Technology, Communications, and Digital Economy, and is being operated based on the standards of an international university. VKU gathers the most excellent lecturers in the Middle – Central Highlands region with 100% of them having postgraduate degrees, including nearly 70 PhDs and Associate Professors trained in countries with advanced education systems. The admission scores have been constantly increasing compared to previous years for all 16 training majors/specializations. The entrance admission scores are: 24-27 based on high school academic transcripts; from 22 to 27 applied for the national high school exam, making the average admission score in 2024 (around 24) among the highest in the country. In particular, the number of candidates getting direct admission to the university increased rapidly, to more than 400 students, accounting for nearly 30% of the total 1,521 students enrolled, bringing the total student population of the university to nearly 7,000.

VKU has always cared about and created the best conditions for its students by maintaining preferential tuition fees, along with many admission policies such as direct admission, scholarship support, and so on. Most noticeably, the training programs and teaching methods are modern and regularly updated basing on the international standards relevant with training majors/specializations, meeting the needs of high-quality human resources for the 4.0 industrial revolution namely Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Semiconductor Design, Communications Technology, Digital Art Design, Business Administration, Logistics Management and Digital Supply Chain, Digital Travel and Tourism Services Management, Digital Financial Management, and Information Technology Project Management. In 2025, VKU has launched four new majors/specializations including Financial Technology, Game Technology, Automotive Software Engineering, and Data Analysis. Especially, with its unique training models, the university’s students are being trained and taught based on the “project-based learning” approach and practical learning method, “learning by doing”. The students have the opportunities to learn through enhancing bilingual training in English-Vietnamese, Japanese-Vietnamese, and Korean-Vietnamese as well as diverse academic activities, competitions, and useful playgrounds to develop knowledge, skills, and training models which combine learning with creativity and practice to create real products right from the first year. Some examples of those activities are the Robocar creative competition, Best Web Design (BWD), online Spring code challenge programming competition, Startup and Innovation competition, English Talent Competition, Information Security competition and many famous academic playgrounds in the country and abroad, which have helped VKU’s students practice and cultivate the necessary skills for future Engineers and Bachelors.

Participating in the campus tour at VKU, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the university such as training majors/specialties, learning equipment, laboratory systems, computer practice rooms, eating facilities, accommodation (dormitories), and so on. A lot of students were especially interested in the university’s 2025 enrollment information, with many “hot” majors suitable for the trend, preferential tuition fees of from 8-9 million VND/per semester, admission scores over the years and separate enrollment policies with many outstanding points that have attracted students’ attention.

In addition, the students also visited the university campus with spacious and modern infrastructure funded by the Vietnamese and Korean governments with an estimated investment of more than 1,000 billion VND on a large campus area of ​​nearly 24 hectares along with zones of lecture halls, standard working areas, and a series of 60 computer practice and experimental rooms including 2,200 networked computers, automatic control practice equipment, and embedded systems which meet the research and learning needs of students. Of them, there are 19 international standard research and experimental rooms with modern equipment invested by the Korean government such as the Semiconductor and Smart Technology Center (VKU-SSTH), VKU Fintech Hub, Lab for Experimentation and Research of New Technology, Smart Korean Language Classroom (Klass).

Pursuing the educational philosophy “Humanity – Dedication – Liberation”, along with practical activities for high school students, VKU desires to create opportunities for them to explore more about the university environment, thereby contributing to career orientation and counseling for high school students. This experience program has a profound humanistic meaning, embodied by its thoughtful arrangements from pick-up and drop-off, providing completely free meals, and before that, VKU had also organized many meaningful programs to connect students, parents, and the university.
