VKU welcomed and exchanged cooperation with the Research Camp for Common Benefits delegation, the French Republic
On the morning of March 6, 2024, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang had a meeting and worked with the Research Camp for Common Benefits Delegation, the French Republic to exchange cooperation directions and seek common ideas for training.
The overview of the meeting
Attending the meeting, on the delegation’s side, there were Ms. Sonya Dumesnil – Project Director, Mr. Fabien Leclercq – Project Director and Dr. Le Tran Bao Chan – Deputy Dean of French Department – University of Pedagogy, The University of Ho Chi Minh city. On VKU’s side, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, along with Leaders of Departments and Faculties of the University.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh was very pleased to welcome the Research Camp for Common Benefits Delegation from the Republic of France to visit and work at VKU. Thereby, he also shared about the formation and development of VKU over the past years, the orientation and the vision for training, the research; the business cooperation, and especially development and implementation of the project “Improving education – training, administration and research capacity for the period 2022-2027” worth 7.7 million USD from non- reimbursement ODA capital by the Korean Government through KOICA. The project has a particularly important strategy for VKU to become a leading and a world-class university in Vietnam in management, training, scientific research, innovation, as well as international and business cooperation. There are the important specific goals of the project such as: developing VKU to the first digital university in the Central region; training and developing a team of qualified lecturers and staff with excellent expertise and skills; Improving and accrediting the training quality; promoting innovation, research, startups, business connections, cultural and academic exchanges…

Representative of the Delegation, Ms. Sonya Dumesnil – Project Director was happy to realize the potential for cooperation with VKU. She also introduced the project’s program targeting the main activities such as searching and supporting research projects with a common foundation towards sustainable development, with priority given to education, culture, peace, and human rights,…; connecting multi-disciplinary scientists to carry out joint research projects that serve human life and aim for sustainable development and enhance the research capacity of researchers around the world.
Through exchanging and discussion, representatives of both sides agreed to implement a long-term cooperation program, in which VKU will spread information to lecturers and researchers to jointly look for common ideas in information technology, communications and digital economy of the University.
The meeting took place successfully, aiming for cooperation proposals in the near future. This is also an opportunity for VKU to introduce, exchange and share information about the University’s vision, the orientation and the development strategy with the Research Camp for the Common Benefit Delegation, the French Republic.
