On June 14, 2023, during the business trip at the University of Da Nang, the Thai Nguyen University delegation (TNU) headed by Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Hoang Van Hung – TNU Director had a visit and work at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Da Nang. Welcoming the delegation, on the side of VKU, there was Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector and Department representatives attended.

Sharing at the meeting, after established more than 3 years, VKU has been dynamic, actively building perfect management system, setting up training systems, facilities and many other aspects of work with outstanding results such as: In 2022, enrollment reached 100% of the target with 1,500 students enrolling over 20,000 applications by methods, the admission score is in the top of the country from 24 to 25 points in the form of high school results and from 20.5 to 25 points in the form of high school exam test scores (up from 2-3 points compared to 2021); launching an ODA project of US $7.7 million funded by the Korean Government; opening an innovation and creative research space and Digital Science and Technology Institute (eSTI); strengthening cooperation with many businesses and organizations at home and abroad; organize academic competitions for students and high school pupils in the Central – Central Highlands, training activities are implemented synchronously, training programs are updated and renewed, quality assurance is focused, the work of facilities and financial is paid attention, the material life of employees is increasingly improved; communication is strongly implemented to bring high efficiency.

Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Hoang Van Hung expressed his pleasure of VKU success, considering VKU as one of the models for TNUs educational institutions to learn and gain more experience. During nearly 25 years of establishment and development, Thai Nguyen University has constantly developed and perfected according to the full model of a regional, multilevel and multidisciplinary university including management units, training units, research units and training units. Currently, Thai Nguyen University has a total of 19 member units, of which many University units are key training institutions contributing to the economic, cultural and social development of the midland, mountainous region of the North and the whole country.

On the basis of the cooperation between the two units the University of Da Nang and Thai Nguyen University, with the formation, orientation and development strategy, there are many similarities, because of the common development of Vietnamese education, especially between the two central and northern regions, the meeting is an opportunity for the Board of Directors members to discuss, exchange cohesive cooperation directions, exchange research and technology transfer between educational institutions under the two units of the University of Da Nang and Thai Nguyen University in the near future.
