On the morning of April 12, 2023, at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang took place the Second Meeting – 2023 of the Science and Training Council to report results of the first quarter of 2023’ activities and directions in the training, enrollment, science, technology, international cooperation, and innovation start-up at VKU.

Meeting of the Science and Training Council is an annual activity held in quarter, year to evaluate the achieved results in all aspects of work, and recognize serious limitations, thereby setting out appropriate directions, plans and solutions for implementing tasks in the following quarters.

At the meeting, the Science and Training Council heard the result report of the first quarter of 2023. In particular, training section has always been focused on, strictly complying with the Ministry of Education and Training’ rules and regulations as well as the University of Da Nang, the University has completed the project of global engineer/bachelor training programs (all entirely curriculum in English), successfully implemented the training program for IT engineers – Japanese and aim to open new Korean language training programs with the support of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam as well as businesses looking forward to cooperating with VKU. In addition, the University has organized prestigious national competitions such as the Informatics Olympiad in the Central – Central Highlands, the VNU-HCM Competence Assessment Exam 1st phase – 2023.

With the enrollment section, the University has directly organized enrollment trips in 15 provinces/ cities in the Central – Central Highlands region, organized the VKU Campus Tour 2023 to promote the image, consulting students to learn about the university environment and career orientation in the future.

In technology scientific and international cooperation, many outstanding activities have been successfully implemented, the University will continue to work closely with the project implementation consultancy unit (PMC Korea) to implement the project “Improving the capacity of education – training, administration and research of the University in the period of 2022-2027”, Korean ODA funding;

In innovation and entrepreneurship, the University continues to implement collaborative projects to implement start-up and innovation programs for VKU students.

At the meeting, the Science and Training Council’ members discuss and collect appraisal opinions on the implementation of new training programs in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Training’ regulations  as well as the University of Da Nang, implementing to open new 03 training majors: Information Security; Communication Technology; Marketing.

Besides of appreciating the achievements, the Science and Training Council’ members advised on plans, proposals, recommendations and new solutions to improve the quality of the University in the coming years, continue to build and promote activities in accordance with the actual situation and the University’ orientations, promote to implement key training, science and technology as well as international cooperation.

Recognizing above comments, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Council Chairman would like to thank and acknowledge. Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Huynh Cong Phap affirmed that the contributions of the members are high quality and fit with VKUs orientation to become the leading application-oriented university in information technology, communication, digital economy and related fields according to advanced governance model, smart and modern schools.
