On the morning of May 31, 2024, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Da Nang solemnly organized the Graduation and Award Ceremony 2024 for 288 newly graduated engineers and bachelors of the 3rd course (2019).

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of The University of Da Nang, there were Dr. Phan Minh Duc – Chairman of the Council of The University of Da Nang, Representatives of Leaders from member universities; Departments under The University of Da Nang; Representatives of Leaders from enterprises cooperating with VKU. On behalf of VKU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Party Secretary, Rector of the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, the Board of Management, all staff, lecturers and a large number of students, including more than 200 newly graduated engineers and bachelors of the 2019 course together with their parents.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap warmly welcomed and congratulated the newly graduated engineers and bachelor of the University who were awarded their graduation diplomas and the students who achieved outstanding achievements in the entire course of the 2019 course, along with words of gratitude and congratulations to their families.

VKU is proud to be a leading public university training and researching in-depth in the fields of information technology, communications and digital economy, developing according to the international university model. Over the recent years, VKU has had in-top admission scores in the country and in the Central Highlands, at the average score of 24/30. VKU has a strong and talented staff and lecturers, along with spacious infrastructure invested by the Vietnamese and Korean governments, with a very modern infrastructure system, lecture halls, and practice laboratories. VKU is considered as a pioneer university in the Central Highlands in training and researching new fields of the 4th industrial revolution, responding to the development strategy of the country such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Security, Financial Technology, … Especially, in 2024, VKU is the first university in the Central Highlands to announce the enrollment for Semiconductor IC major.

On behalf of the University of Danang, Dr. Phan Minh Duc – Chairman of the University of Danang Council happily congratulated the newly graduated engineers and bachelors who received their graduation diplomas and highly appreciated VKU in the development process with a system of core values, prestige, professionalism, and quality as a guideline in training. The University believes that the training quality made by VKU is consistent with the viewpoint of the University of Danang, with the human resource needs of businesses and society. VKU is an institution with full capacity and prestige in training, academic exchanging, researching towards technology transfering in information technology, communications and digital economy with domestic and foreign partners. Over the years, the rate of VKU students graduating on time has increased. VKU has focused on innovating the program, training management, testing and evaluating studying results in a strict, scientific and effective manner.

With the motto of “Learners – centered” and the educational philosophy of “Humanity – Service – Liberalization”, VKU applies modern and experiential teaching and learning methods to maximize the self-study capacity, self-development on knowledge and skills for learners; At the same time, the programs and teaching contents are continuously updated in a practical and integrated direction to provide high-quality human resources and comprehensive people in Morality – Mind – Body – Beauty to serve the global labor market.

In 2019, the Faculty of Information Technology and Communications of the University of Danang, a constituent unit of VKU, happily welcomed students of the third course. This was also the first course for bachelors of the university. During their studying process at VKU, the students have overcome many difficulties of the Covid 19 pandemic and of the newly established university. The students have excellently completed the training program on schedule, meeting output standards. 100% of students completed their graduation thesis entirely in English. Among them, there were many students have achieved remarkable achievements in international and national academic and creative startup competitions such as: ICPC International Student Programming Contest, Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad, Second Prize at the National Science and Technology Award for Students in Higher Education Institutions, First Prize at Da Nang Student Scientific Research Award, 3 highest prizes (First, Second, Third), VietFuture Award – National Future Creation Award…

At the Graduation and Award Ceremony, there were 288 students awarded diplomas, with nearly 25% of students achieving Excellent and Good grades. The employment rate of graduates is very high, with an average salary of 8-15 million VND/month or higher. Most of them are recruited by leading domestic and international enterprises such as Daewoo, Hitachi, LG, FSoft, Enclave… Many of them have been recruited by large enterprises when they were still 2^nd – year or 3rd – year students.

Representing the newly graduated Engineers and Bachelors, student Pham Vu Thu Nguyet – newly graduated Engineer in Information Technology expressed her deep gratitude to VKU’s teachers, who have always loved and accompanied the students like their second parents during the years. It can be said that VKU is a university with quality – prestige – professionalism, owning professional and responsible teachers, dedicated to teaching career, with a system of facilities and practice equipment that are synchronously invested, meeting training needs. This is also the place where we are supplied with not only knowledge and experience but also the passion for the profession from the teachers so that in the future we will become researchers, scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs who are passionate about our jobs.

The Graduation and Award Ceremony is considered as a milestone of the initial success of the students, and is also a small part of the big goal with the passion to build a prestigious and a dream university in the Central region for students, especially in the Central – Central Highlands region. In particular, VKU always focuses on providing maximum support for learners with many financial policies, preferential tuition fees; developing spacious, modern, convenient facilities and infrastructure, a dynamic, professional and friendly learning environment to train and provide high-quality digital human resources for the global market.
