Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Korean Invitational Program: International Exchange on 4.0 Technology and Fintech, Opening New Project Collaboration Opportunities
On the morning of October 29, 2024, at Hanwha Life Headquarters in Seoul, Korea, the opening ceremony of the “2024 Korean Invitational Program” took place, involving the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology – the University of Danang (UD-VKU), Hanwha Life Group, and ChildFund Korea (CFK).
Overview of the Opening Ceremony
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Hong Jeong Pyo – Vice President of Hanwha Life Korea, Ms. Kim Jin – Global Program Director – CFK and other Korean leaders and experts. The VKU delegation included Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, leaders of VKU’s units and 20 outstanding students selected to participate in the program.
Remarks by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, VKU’s Rector
At the opening of the program, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, VKU’s Rector, sincerely thanked Hanwha Life and CFK for their sponsorship and attentive reception. He emphasized that this program is of great significance to the management staff, lecturers, and especially the students, as they develop their knowledge, skills, and research orientations in the field of technology and Fintech. The program presents a great opportunity for every participant, especially VKU students, who are fully funded by Hanwha Life and CFK to visit and learn from Hanwha Life, a leading financial group in Korea, as well as technology and Fintech firms in Seoul and the beautiful, modern country of Korea. It is an opportunity for students to learn from and exchange with many experts in finance and technology as well as experience international culture.
Since late 2023, Hanwha Life Korea has become an important partner and accompanied VKU through the support of CFK Foundation and Daehong in the “Searching, Nurturing, and Training Talents in ICT and Fintech” project with a range of effective, practical and meaningful activities that provide significant value to the community and society. This has been clearly demonstrated through prominent programs and activities such as:
– The 5th Informatics Olympiad in the Central and Central Highlands in March 2024, which attracted 2,390 contestants from 354 primary, secondary, and high schools, including high schools for the gifted nationwide, helping affirm the competition’s prestige, quality, and reliability. Notably, 8 out of 15 students from the national team for regional and international Olympiad in Informatics in 2024 participated.
– The VKU Campus Tour 2024 in March, which drew over 2,000 students from high schools in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Thua Thien Hue, with free lunch and transportation provided for students.
– Investment in establishing the VKU Fintech Hub as a center for training, research, and innovation with modern facilities, including a specialized software system for Statistical Analysis System – SAS , simulations software (e-commerce trading floors, Business Strategy on Business Simulations Games, e-payment systems, digital marketing), and a comprehensive library of textbooks and references for Fintech training aimed at launching the Fintech training program at VKU. VKU plans to enroll 60 students for the Fintech program in 2025, with a 100% English curriculum, combining internships and real-world experience at companies to meet the workforce needs of Danang and major partners of Hanwha Life Korea and the global market.

The 2024 Korean Invitational Program in Korea marked the success of the “Searching, Nurturing, and Training Talents in ICT and Fintech” Project, a collaboration between VKU, Hanwha Life, CFK, and Daehong.
