Closing the CSoNet 2025 Journey: VKU Affirms Its Role as a Trusted Bridge in the Era of Data Science and AI
After three days of serious, dynamic, and productive activities, the 14th International Conference on Computational Social Networks and Data (CSoNet 2025) officially concluded on the afternoon of December 16, 2025, at Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang. The conference left a deep impression on the international scientific community.

Overview of CSoNet 2025 Conference
Attending the closing ceremony, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, were Prof. Thai Tra My (University of Florida, USA), Conference Chair; Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU and Head of the Local Organizing Committee; Prof. Alexander Semenov (University of South Florida, USA); and Prof. Anurag Singh (NIT Delhi, India). Distinguished experts, scientists, and prestigious keynote speakers from Viet Nam and abroad included Prof. Bo Chen (University of Warwick, UK), Prof. Xingquan Zhu (Florida Atlantic University, USA), Prof. Hongchang Gao (Temple University, USA), Dr. Bo Li (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China), Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phi Le Nguyen (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Viet Nam), Prof.Dr. Huynh Xuan Hiep (Can Tho University, Viet Nam). The conference also welcomed nearly 70 authors, researchers, and scientists from many countries, along with a large number of VKU lecturers and students.

In his closing speech, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU and representative of the Organizing Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the intellectual scale and academic depth of CSoNet 2025. He emphasized that the success of the conference resulted from the strong synergy between the serious research spirit and dedication of the international academic community and VKU’s thorough, professional preparation in all aspects of organization. The event not only created an open, multi-dimensional scientific dialogue space but also clearly demonstrated VKU’s capacity and reputation in convening leading scholars, affirming its role as a trusted destination for major regional and international academic events.
CSoNet 2025 took place from December 14 to 16, 2025, under the academic sponsorship of Springer and co-organized by VKU in collaboration with the international scientific community. The conference brought together nearly 200 scientists, experts, and doctoral researchers from many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, Italy, Australia, India, Denmark, and Viet Nam, forming a diverse and knowledge-rich academic forum.

Keynote Speakers sharing core directions in computational social networks, large language models, and heterogeneous network learning
Throughout the conference, participants actively engaged in discussions across eight parallel technical sessions and four poster presentation sessions. Key topics such as Computer Vision, Social Networks, Cybersecurity, Multimodal Signal Processing, and Machine Learning were presented in depth, offering new perspectives on technological foundations and practical applications in the data-driven era. In particular, keynote speeches by leading scholars such as Prof. Bo Chen, Prof. Thai Tra My, and Prof. Xingquan Zhu provided important insights into core issues of computational social networks, large language models (LLMs), and heterogeneous network learning.

Rising Star Talks Sessions
In addition, the Rising Star Talks sessions and the AI-TECH Workshop offered valuable opportunities for young researchers to present innovative studies with strong application potential, while fostering dialogue across generations within the data science and AI research community. Many research ideas, collaboration proposals, and future development directions were formed through in-depth discussions and side exchanges during the conference.

The CSoNet 2025 Organizing Committee honored outstanding author teams with the Best Paper Award, Best Student Paper Award, and Best Paper Runner-up Award
Based on the fair and objective evaluations of novelty, scientific contribution, and practical applicability by the Scientific Committee, the Organizing Committee presented the following awards:
- Best Paper Award was granted to the papers: “Sheet2Music: A Deep Learning Pipeline for Automated Conversion of Sheet Music to Digital Audio” (Authors: Xuan-Quy Manh, Tran-Ngoc-Tran Le) and “Fusing Structured Data with Vision-Language Transformer for Social Media Popularity Prediction” (Authors: Hai Li, Wanli Xing, Chenglu Li, Bailing Lyu).
- Best Student Paper Award was awarded to: “Differential Learning for Data of Varying Importance via Selective Label Smoothing” (Authors: Doheon Han, Nuno Moniz, Nitesh V. Chawla) and “VoiceSpoof-VN: A Public Dataset for Anti-Spoofing in Vietnamese Speaker Verification” (Authors: Anh H. Pham, Quang D. Vi, An Dang).
- Best Paper Runner-up Award was presented to: “Federated Learning with Homomorphic Encryption and Adversarial Robustness for Privacy-Preserving Anomaly Detection in Digital Forensics” (Authors: Xuan Hung Truong, The Dung Luong, Anh Tu Tran, Minh Nhat Vo).
At the closing session, the Organizing Committee also officially announced the Call for Papers for CSoNet 2026, the 15th edition of the conference, which is expected to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The next CSoNet conference promises to further expand international academic connections and provide a platform for the global scientific community to publish and share new research outcomes in the coming year.
Successfully hosting and organizing CSoNet 2025 not only reaffirmed VKU’s reputation and professional capacity in organizing international academic events but also enhanced the University’s position within the global research network. Through this achievement, VKU continues to affirm its role as a trusted academic destination and an effective bridge connecting domestic and international scientific communities, promoting research and innovation in data science and artificial intelligence, and making positive contributions to the development of science, technology, and the digital economy in Viet Nam and the region.
