Spring Reunion 2026: VKU – Solidarity, Breakthrough, and Global Reach

In the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the early days of the Lunar New Year 2026, on the morning of February 23, 2026, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), The University of Danang, held a spring reunion meeting for key personnel and a ceremony to honor newly awarded PhDs. This meaningful annual activity at the beginning of the new year serves as a New Year greeting to the entire VKU community, offering an opportunity to reconnect, reflect on achievements, and look forward to a promising new journey ahead.

The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Công Phap, Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of The University of Danang and Rector of VKU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee; Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngọc Tho; members of the Party Committee; heads and deputy heads of VKU units; leaders of the Trade Union and Youth Union; and the newly awarded PhDs.

In his remarks at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap extended his New Year wishes to all leaders, staff members, and their families, conveying messages of good health, prosperity, and success. He emphasized the spirit of innovation, dynamism, and creativity as essential drivers to further advance the strong development of VKU. The Rector affirmed that the Spring Reunion Meeting is not only an occasion to celebrate the New Year but also an opportunity to strengthen internal solidarity, spread positive energy, and leave behind unfinished matters of the past year. It is a time for the entire University to move forward together into the new year 2026 with renewed determination and enthusiasm, committed to building a happy, professional, and prosperous working environment.

The year 2025 marked numerous outstanding achievements across all areas of operation. VKU continued to uphold a strong spirit of unity and consensus among its leaders and staff. Enrollment reached 100% of the assigned target, with admission scores ranking among the highest nationwide and in the Central region. Training quality was further affirmed as students won many national and international awards, and the graduate employment rate exceeded 90%. English–Vietnamese, Japanese–Vietnamese, and Korean–Vietnamese bilingual programs continued to gain prestige. In addition, the University launched new academic programs and strengthened student management and support services in a more professional and modern direction.

International cooperation activities achieved impressive results with major partners such as Hanwha Life Insurance, CFK, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB). Large-scale and in-depth international scientific conferences, including CITA, DeFi, and Semiconductor Microchips, were successfully organized. ODA projects continued to be implemented, contributing to the development of synchronized and modern infrastructure and facilities. The material and spiritual well-being, as well as the income of staff, improved significantly, ranking among the highest within The University of Danang. Notably, the University successfully completed its first cycle of external institutional quality assessment after five years of establishment. It also successfully hosted major events such as the VIMC 2025 International Mathematics Competition and the Central – Central Highlands Informatics Olympiad, thereby further affirming the position and brand of VKU both nationally and internationally.

Entering 2026 – the pivotal year of the 2026–2030 period, amidst a socio-economic context forecasted with many challenges, the University remains committed to closely following the major guidelines of the Party and the State, particularly Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, and innovation; Conclusion Notice No. 45-TB/TGV of the Central Steering Committee; and the Decision of the President of The University of Danang on the implementation of Conclusion 45. On this basis, the Rector called on all staff and lecturers to focus on implementing seven key tasks with nine groups of solutions and 37 specific actions. These include: maintaining discipline, order, and internal unity; restructuring organizational structure and personnel; modernizing governance in association with university autonomy and comprehensive digital transformation; improving training quality and student affairs; achieving breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship; promoting internationalization; and building a happy educational environment enriched with the distinct culture of VKU, grounded in its core values: service, cooperation, kindness, accountability, quality, integrity, respect, and pride.

At the ceremony, the University formally honored and presented flowers to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Lecturer of the Faculty of Computer Science, in recognition of his persistent research efforts and valuable academic contributions. His achievements contribute to enhancing the quality of the academic staff and strengthening the scholarly standing of the University.

Beginning the new year with confidence and aspirations for further growth, all leaders, staff members, and employees of VKU will continue to uphold the spirit of unity, proactiveness, and creativity, striving to successfully accomplish the 2026 mission and promote the sustainable development of the University, steadily expanding its reach to the regional and international levels.
