VKU – KMUTNB (Rayong Campus) Strengthen Strategic Partnership: Expanding Academic Exchange, Research Collaboration, and Fully Funded International Paid Internships for Students
Within the framework of an official visit to Thailand on the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), on February 20, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, held an in-depth working session with the Faculty of Business Administration at KMUTNB – Rayong Campus.
The meeting was hosted by Dr. Thitirat Thawornsujaritkul, Assistant to the President and Head of KMUTNB Rayong Campus, together with the leadership of the Faculty of Business Administration. The discussion was conducted in a formal yet open and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the high regard of Rayong Campus leadership for the VKU Rector and the increasingly substantive partnership between the two universities.

During the meeting, both sides focused on practical cooperation initiatives aimed at enhancing training quality, strengthening international exposure, and expanding career opportunities for students. A key highlight of the discussion was Rayong Campus’ commitment to sponsor four scholarships for VKU students to participate in paid internship programs in Thailand. This concrete initiative demonstrates KMUTNB’s meaningful support in enabling VKU students to access international working environments, gain professional experience, and develop global competencies.
The two institutions also agreed to further promote faculty exchange, organize specialized seminars, short-term teaching programs, and collaborative research in areas of mutual strength. Enhanced academic exchange is expected not only to improve faculty expertise but also to lay the foundation for joint research projects and industry-linked initiatives aligned with the practical needs of the ASEAN region.

Notably, Rayong Campus leadership emphasized its proactive commitment to connecting with enterprises in Rayong Province—one of Thailand’s most dynamic industrial hubs—to further expand international paid internship opportunities for VKU students. Strengthening university–industry collaboration, particularly in an international context, will enable VKU students to directly engage in modern production, management, and operational processes, thereby enhancing their professional competence and global competitiveness in the labor market.

He reaffirmed that in VKU’s development strategy, international cooperation—especially with reputable ASEAN partners such as KMUTNB—remains a key pillar for improving training quality, promoting applied research, and expanding development opportunities for learners.
The working session at Rayong Campus not only further consolidated the trusted and sustainable partnership between VKU and KMUTNB in academic cooperation, but also elevated the collaboration to a strategic level in developing high-quality human resources that meet regional and global integration demands. Through agreed initiatives on faculty exchange, scholarship programs, and enterprise-linked paid internships, both institutions are shaping a practical cooperation model that closely integrates education with real-world practice and the international labor market. At the same time, new directions for collaboration in education and research are being explored, particularly in technology-integrated business administration, innovation, and digital transformation, thereby enhancing VKU’s position, reputation, and proactive role within the ASEAN and global higher education network.
