VKU, in collaboration with VNU-CEA, conducted a preliminary survey to assess the quality of its educational facilities in preparation for the official accreditation

On the afternoon of January 9, 2026, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Da Nang (UDN), in collaboration with the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA), conducted a preliminary survey to assess the quality of the university’s educational activities. This survey represents an important preparatory step, laying a solid foundation for the official accreditation survey in accordance with the regulation of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Overview of the Preliminary Evaluation Session

The session welcomed the participation of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA), represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Director, and members of the External Evaluation Expert Team comprising Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan – Head of the Evaluation Team, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong – Secretary, and Ms. Vu Thi Mai Anh – Supervisor.

Leading the VKU delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, accompanied by Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, as well as heads of affiliated units.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the university – affirmed that quality assurance and accreditation are central and ongoing tasks in VKU’s development strategy. He emphasized that the university has carried out the self-assessment process in a serious and systematic manner, with the coordinated participation of the entire management system, functional units, and faculty and staff.

Through the preliminary survey, VKU expects to fully absorb the feedback and recommendations of the External Evaluation Expert Team in order to further refine its documentation and evidence, enhance the effectiveness of university governance, and improve the quality of training, scientific research, and community service, thereby achieving optimal results in the official accreditation survey.

Speaking on behalf of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Director of the Center – highly appreciated VKU’s proactive approach, sense of responsibility, and meticulous preparation throughout the self-assessment process. She emphasized that the preliminary survey plays a significant role in enabling both the External Evaluation Expert Team and the university to reach a common understanding regarding the objectives, scope, implementation methods, and necessary conditions for the official survey. She further expressed her belief that, with strong determination and consensus among the university’s leadership, staff, and faculty, VKU will continue to affirm its commitment to educational quality and foster a sustainable culture of quality assurance across the university.

At the plenary session, the VKU representative presented a report on the implementation of the self-assessment of educational quality, clarifying the approach, organizational structure, methodologies applied, and the initial results achieved. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan – Head of the External Evaluation Expert Team – delivered a summary of the review of the self-assessment dossier, announced the official survey plan, and worked with the university to discuss areas requiring further preparation, including supplementing supporting evidence, identifying interview participants, organizing observation activities and on-site inspections, as well as finalizing the schedule and logistical arrangements.

Preliminary inspection by the External Evaluation Expert Team

As part of the preliminary survey, the External Evaluation Expert Team worked with the university’s designated focal point officers to conduct a preliminary inspection of the self-assessment dossier system and supporting evidence, and to evaluate VKU’s level of preparedness for the official survey. Concurrently, the team conducted on-site inspections of facilities anticipated to serve the evaluation activities, including the working office for the expert team, interview rooms, and other spaces.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of VKU and VNU-CEA signed the preliminary survey minutes, which serves as a critical basis for strengthening cooperation between the two parties and ensuring the effective organization of the official survey. This process contributes to affirming VKU’s training quality and academic reputation within the Vietnamese higher education system.
