VKU Launches International Internship Training Model Through MoU with KMUTNB (Thailand) and Sun World Ba Na Hills
On the afternoon of December 20, 2025, within the framework of the International Scientific Conference on Digital Economy and Financial Technology (DeFi 2025) held at Sun World Ba Na Hills, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was conducted among three parties: Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang University; King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand; and Ba Na Hills Cable Car Service Joint Stock Company (Sun World Ba Na Hills). This event marks a significant milestone, clearly demonstrating the university’s strong commitment to internationalized training, strengthening the linkage between the university and enterprises, and contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in the context of regional integration.

Overview of the Signing Ceremony
Representing VKU at the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, along with leaders of the university’s functional units. KMUTNB was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong – Vice Rector in charge of International Cooperation and Dr. Thitirat Thawornsujaritkul – Assistant Rector in charge of the Rayong campus. From Sun World Ba Na Hills, the delegation included Mr. Doan Quoc Viet – Deputy Director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh – Deputy Director, and leaders of specialized departments and divisions. Notably, the ceremony was also attended by the first 6 KMUTNB students currently interning at Sun World Ba Na Hills, vividly illustrating the initial outcomes of the tripartite cooperation.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU’s Rector highlighted that cooperation between universities and enterprises should go beyond the signing of agreements and be realized through concrete, substantive models that deliver long-term value for students. In line with this orientation, VKU introduced an internship model that pairs one VKU student with one KMUTNB student, enabling them to work, study, and mutually support each other during their internships at Sun World Ba Na Hills. This approach effectively supports students from both countries in enhancing their professional competencies, foreign language proficiency, cultural understanding, and international integration mindset within a practical and professional working environment. Furthermore, hosting DeFi 2025 at Sun World Ba Na Hills serves as further evidence of VKU’s innovative approach to connecting academia with real-world settings, thereby creating a multidimensional experiential environment for scientists, lecturers, and students.

Representing the enterprise, Mr. Doan Quoc Viet – Deputy Director of Sun World Ba Na Hills affirmed that the signing of the MoU represents an important step in the enterprise’s human resource development strategy. Sun World Ba Na Hills is committed to strategically partnering with VKU and KMUTNB in receiving, training, and nurturing international students through professional internship programs. The enterprise is committed to providing comprehensive support for KMUTNB students during their internships, including coverage of related costs, assistance with visa procedures, work permits, and the issuance of internship completion certificates. These practical support policies reflects the enterprise’s strong sense of social responsibility and contribute to the establishment of a sustainable education-tourism cooperation relationship among the three parties.

According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, VKU, KMUTNB, and Sun World Ba Na Hills agreed to strengthen cooperation in practical training, student exchange, professional skills development, while expanding academic exchange activities in the future. This agreement not only lays a solid foundation for large-scale, well-structured international internship programs but also contributes to the development of a sustainable collaborative ecosystem between the university and enterprises. At the signing ceremony, representatives from KMUTNB also awarded four scholarships to VKU students in support of their studies and participation in international exchange programs at KMUTNB.
The signing of the MoU among VKU, KMUTNB, and Sun World Ba Na Hills clearly demonstrates VKU’s pioneering role in international connectivity and its innovation in developing training models closely linked to practical applications and industry. This also represents an important step toward realizing the goal of developing high-quality human resources with global professional competence and skills, ready to integrate into the new phase of development.
