VKU Staff and Employees Conference for the Academic Year 2025-2026: Unity and Innovation in Building a Happy and Sustainable University
On the morning of December 12, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, organized the Staff and Employees Conference for the academic year 2025-2026.
The Conference holds special significance, serving not only to review and evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the Staff and Employees Conference for the academic year 2024-2025, but also to conduct a thorough assessment and identify the causes of existing limitations and shortcomings. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements attained, while proposing appropriate strategic directions for the University’s development in the next phase. In addition, the Conference created a forum for all staff and employees to exercise their democratic rights, put forward opinions, and express their aspirations to the University’s leadership. Through this, the event highlighted the spirit of unity and consensus, as the entire University community joins hands to build and advance VKU’s mission in education and training.

Attending the conference, representatives of the University of Danang (UD) included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Vice Chairman of the University Council of UD, Chairman of the UD Trade Union, along with representatives of the leadership of functional departments under the University of Danang. From VKU, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice President, Mr. Tran Dinh Son – Chairman of the University Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, M.A. – Secretary of the University Youth Union, together with representatives of unit leaders and 112 delegates elected from grassroots-level conferences.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU delivered the opening speech of the conference and presented the summary report of the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as the directions and key tasks for the 2025-2026 academic year.
In his opening remarks and in presenting the summary report of the 2024–2025 academic year as well as the directions and key tasks for the 2025-2026 academic year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of the University, warmly welcomed and sincerely expressed his appreciation for the close guidance and leadership of the University of Danang, as well as for the support and companionship of the leaders of functional departments and political–social organizations under the University of Danang, who have shown special care and strong support for the University’s staff and employees in recent years.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, under the close attention, leadership, and guidance of the University of Danang and all levels of leadership, together with the strong efforts and solidarity of the entire staff and employees, the University successfully implemented and excellently fulfilled three major strategic directions and 59 key tasks as planned, achieving remarkable results across 12 groups of activities. Notable achievements include the successful organization of student admissions in 2024 with 1,500 enrollment quotas for 16 majors and minors, achieving a 100% enrollment rate, and admission scores increasing by 2–3 points compared to 2023. In particular, the IC Design minor recorded an admission score of 27 points, ranking among the highest nationwide. The 2025 admissions also yielded positive results, with 1,618 candidates admitted. Student academic performance showed a high proportion of students achieving good or higher results, while the employment rate of graduates one year after graduation reached nearly 95%. The University opened four new majors and minors, including Financial Technology, Data Analytics, Game Technology, and Automotive Software Engineering. It also actively implemented a USD 7.7 million ODA project funded by the Korean Government, and invested in and put into operation key facilities such as the VKU Fintech Hub, a Smart Korean Language Classroom, and the Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space). Student management was strengthened through enhanced two-way communication between the University and students’ families via the Parent Information Portal. The University expanded cooperation with numerous domestic and international enterprises, strengthening university–industry collaboration in training, and enhancing students’ foreign language proficiency in English, Japanese, and Korean, as well as their professional skills. The University successfully organized many large-scale international scientific conferences, including CITA 2025 (held for the first time in Cambodia), along with conferences and seminars on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Microchips, Fintech, and related fields. Internship programs, academic exchanges, and cultural exchanges between VKU faculty and students and partner universities in Thailand, Korea, Taipei (Chinese Taipei), and Japan were expanded, with nearly 200 participants involved. In addition, the University organized and participated in many prestigious international and national academic competitions such as the Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025), the Central–Highlands Informatics Olympiad, the Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge – DDC 2025, and the National Youth Informatics Contest. Many VKU students achieved high rankings in international and national competitions related to entrepreneurship and innovation. The University also strengthened the recruitment of high-quality faculty with strong professional expertise, completed its organizational structure, maintained discipline and order in training activities, and expanded communication and branding efforts, significantly enhancing the University’s visibility within the community. The campus landscape was improved to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment, while digital transformation was strongly applied across all management and operational activities, along with many other initiatives. Notably, the material and spiritual well-being of staff and employees improved significantly. The average income of the University’s staff in 2025 increased by 29% compared to 2024 and nearly quadrupled compared to 2020, the year the University was newly established.
In the academic year 2025–2026, amid new opportunities and challenges, VKU has identified seven major tasks as follows: Continuing to uphold discipline, order, unity, and collective consensus; Restructuring the organizational structure, leadership and management apparatus, and human resources; Continuing to modernize the University and promote autonomy in governance and administration, infrastructure and facilities; curriculum content and teaching methods; digital transformation and technology; faculty and staff capacity and skills; learning environment and campus spaces; Enhancing the quality of education and student management and support; expanding and transforming training fields and research; Making breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation; Promoting internationalization and global integration; Building a happy university imbued with VKU’s distinctive culture, grounded in the spirit of service, cooperation, kindness, no-blame culture, quality, integrity, respect, appreciation, inclusiveness, generosity, self-respect, and pride. Based on these major tasks, VKU has also proposed nine groups of solutions and thirty-seven specific tasks across the University’s management and operations, striving to successfully accomplish the objectives of the 2025–2026 academic year.

Delivering the directive remarks at the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Vice Chairman of the University of Danang Council and Chairman of the University of Danang Trade Union – acknowledged and commended VKU’s efforts over the past academic year, highlighting five key pillars: (1) student recruitment; (2) education and training, particularly in strategic and flagship academic programs; (3) international cooperation forums and international scientific conferences; (4) student support and care, notably through opportunities for internships, practical training, and international integration; (5) care for faculty members and staff, with material and spiritual well-being significantly improved. Accordingly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc emphasized that in the coming period, VKU should focus on innovating university governance, enhancing the quality of scientific research, successfully achieving institutional accreditation, effectively implementing ODA-funded projects, making optimal use of investment outcomes, and fostering a united and happy working and learning environment. With this spirit, the University of Danang expressed its confidence that VKU will continue to affirm its position among leading universities and achieve sustainable development.

Summary reports were presented at the Conference.
The Conference listened to summary reports on the activities of the University Council and the People’s Inspectorate for the 2024-2025 academic year; a report on organizational matters and feedback from lower-level staff and employee conferences; a report on the implementation results of the Resolution of the 2024-2025 Staff and Employee Conference; and a report on the financial situation in 2025. Based on the reports presented, the Conference engaged in exchanges, discussions, and provided feedback on orientations and solutions for the development of education and training, the system of facilities and infrastructure, and the development of the University’s key political activities, among other issues. The leadership of the University of Danang and the University acknowledged, received, and responded to the opinions and recommendations of faculty and staff members. The Conference unanimously voted to adopt the Resolution of the Conference for the 2025-2026 academic year, comprising 45 targets across 10 groups of tasks.

Within the framework of the Conference, representatives of the University’s professional leadership and the Trade Union launched the emulation movement and signed the emulation commitment for the 2025–2026 academic year. The Conference announced decisions, commended, and conferred emulation titles and awards on collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding accomplishments during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Staff and Employee Conference for the 2025–2026 academic year not only demonstrated the spirit of unity and determination to overcome difficulties and challenges among all faculty and staff of Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, but also reaffirmed their shared commitment to progress. With the assigned tasks and targets for the 2025-2026 academic year, all faculty and staff will continue to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, foster innovation and creativity, and promote connection and mutual support in order to successfully implement the University’s development strategy, thereby affirming VKU’s position and moving toward the goal of building a happy university that is a pioneer in education and training in the future.
