On the morning of November 20, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 – 20/11/2025). The event aimed to honor the noble values of the teaching profession, express gratitude to teachers – those who have devoted themselves tirelessly to the cause of education and at the same time inspire a spirit of innovation, responsibility, and aspiration in the university’s staff during a period in which Vietnamese higher education is undergoing strong transformation amid new development opportunities.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Vice President of the University of Danang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of VKU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council; the Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho; along with the university’s entire faculty and staff.

In the solemn and emotional atmosphere of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap delivered a profound speech expressing gratitude to generations of educators. He emphasized that: “November 20 is not only a celebration of the education sector but also a day when society as a whole honors the ‘ethics of teaching,’ the symbol of dedication. To honor teachers is to honor the essence of the nation” – a statement reaffirming the enduring value of the teaching profession in the national identity and development. He emphasized that the achievements VKU has today are the culmination of the intelligence, effort, and dedication of many generations of teachers and staff, those “who laid the very first foundational bricks for the university with their intellect, perseverance, and wholehearted devotion,” building a humane and exemplary educational environment.

Looking back on its five-year journey, VKU has every reason to be proud: from a young institution, it has rapidly grown into one of the leading universities in the region in the fields of digital technology and the digital economy. Its enrollment scale has grown impressively, from 1,500 initial students to nearly 8,500 students today across 19 majors/specializations. Entrance scores have remained consistently high, from 23 – 24 points and above. 100% of graduating students complete their theses in a foreign language, and more than 95% secure employment within one year after graduation. International cooperation has achieved remarkable recognition through a series of exchange and academic collaboration programs, with nearly 100 faculty and students each year receiving financial support to study, intern, or participate in international exchanges in Japan, Korea, the UK, Thailand, and more. In scientific research, VKU has affirmed its academic standing through prestigious international conferences such as CITA, DeFI, ATC, and ICCCI. Notably, the university made a strong impression by co-organizing the International Mathematics Competition VIMC 2025, which gathered contestants from 30 countries, clear evidence of the university’s prestige, capability, and growing stature.

Beyond academics, VKU has built a modern and transparent governance system, implementing nearly 100 standardization meetings for processes, and developing and digitizing hundreds of BPR/ISP procedures. These efforts form a solid foundation for comprehensive digital transformation within the university. Such consistent initiatives have strengthened VKU’s internal capacity, enhancing its credibility within the University of Danang system and the international academic community.

With the demand for strong and innovative change to contribute to the major strategic goals of the University of Danang in this new period – aiming to reach the Top 150 in Asia and develop several disciplines into the world’s Top 100 – VKU must continue to innovate boldly: elevate its mindset, renew its methods, proactively engage in research and innovation, and be ready to break through in the digital era. VKU aspires to become a smart – green – humane – happy university, grounded in the philosophy of Humanity – Service – Enlightenment, where knowledge is spread, character is nurtured, and aspirations are cultivated.

At the ceremony, in recognition of outstanding achievements in the academic year 2023 – 2024, the university presented: Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training to 01 collective for excellent task performance, 03 excellent labor collectives, 02 collectives excelling in innovation activities 01 individual with outstanding achievements and 01 individual with significant contributions to education; Certificates of Merit from the President of the University of Danang to 02 collectives and 02 exemplary individuals. These awards hold great motivational value and demonstrate the university’s deep appreciation for the contributions of VKU’s staff throughout the past year.
