Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – VKU Rector Speaks
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the university – expressed his pleasure in welcoming the leadership of Code Engine Studio (CES) and affirmed that cooperation between the university and businesses is a key factor in VKU’s development strategy. After five years of establishment, VKU has made remarkable progress, with nearly 7,000 students enrolled in 19 majors and minors in the fields of digital technology and digital economy. The entrance scores for all majors have consistently remained high, at 24 points or above, demonstrating the growing prestige and quality of the university’s training programs. In particular, VKU places strong emphasis on internationalization in education through bilingual programs in English–Vietnamese, Japanese–Vietnamese, and Korean–Vietnamese, helping students enhance their language proficiency, global mindset, and integration capabilities. Among these, the Japanese–Vietnamese bilingual program in cooperation with NiX Education is a prime example, having enrolled nearly 150 students in its first three cohorts. In 2024, the program expanded to 160 students, including a specialized class in semiconductor design. The program has yielded many positive outcomes, such as the inauguration of the VJIT Space, two students being officially recruited by Japanese companies, three students undertaking one-year internships in Japan, and many others participating in internships and online work with Japanese companies.
In addition, VKU has been actively promoting international cooperation through academic exchange and cultural exchange programs. To date, more than 100 students have been supported to participate in international internships, academic exchanges, and cultural exchange programs in countries such as Thailand, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, and more. From 2022 to 2027, with ODA funding from the Korean Government, VKU will establish an Innovation and Startup Center covering an area of 1,500 m². This center will serve as a bridge connecting enterprises with students through on-site internships and joint implementation of real-world projects from businesses.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Da Nang, Vietnam, Code Engine Studio is a global technology company specializing in providing custom software development and staff augmentation services to organizations in more than 20 countries. With a team of over 50 Vietnamese-English experts, the company has delivered more than 100 projects for clients from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. During the discussion, the two sides proposed many practical and in-depth cooperation ideas aimed at fostering long-term engagement between the university and the business. Among the highlights was a plan to jointly develop potential creative projects and capstone projects to address real-world business challenges, enabling students to gain early exposure to a professional working environment and develop applied thinking skills. In addition, both sides agreed to organize specialized seminars and bootcamps, inviting experts from the company to directly provide soft skills and English training for VKU students. Notably, for first-year students of the 2025 intake, VKU and Code Engine Studio plan to launch a series of orientation activities, English training, and foundational skills courses right from the beginning of the academic program. This is considered an important preparation step to help students quickly adapt to a modern learning environment while building a solid foundation for their studies and future international integration.
The Code Engine Studio delegation was also introduced to several of VKU’s exemplary learning and creative spaces.
At the end of the working session, the CES delegation visited several of the university’s exemplary learning and creative spaces, such as the VJIT Space and the Digital Science and Technology Institute(eSTI), and expressed strong impressions of VKU’s well-planned investments, innovative learning environment, and inspiring atmosphere.
