VKU Launches K-Tech College 2025 Training Program: A Global Integration Launchpad for Tech Students

On the morning of June 30, 2025, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) – the University of Danang, in collaboration with LikeLion Co., Ltd. (Korea), held the Opening Ceremony of the K-Tech College 2025 training program for final-year students majoring in Information Technology. This special program is funded by the Government of Korea under the leadership of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), and managed by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME). It aims to train high-level software development professionals who are ready to enter the global workforce.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony of the K-Tech College 2025 Training Program

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Kim Hyeon Gyu, Director of LikeLion Co., Ltd. (Korea); Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU; representatives from various departments, faculties, and centers; lecturers, mentors, class managers; and 39 participating students.

Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU, officially launched the K-Tech College 2025 training program.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran The Son – Vice Rector of VKU – emphasized: “We are truly honored to be entrusted by the Korean Government to implement the K-Tech College 2025 training program right here in Da Nang. With nearly 7,000 students, VKU is a public university specializing in digital technology and digital economy, equipped with a highly qualified faculty and modern infrastructure. Our students – especially those in Information Technology – are well-trained in solid foundational knowledge, foreign languages, and professional working skills. Participation in the K-Tech College 2025 program not only provides students access to cutting-edge technological knowledge but also offers a valuable opportunity to engage in real-world projects, gain hands-on experience, and expand their global career prospects. VKU is committed to fully supporting and accompanying the program to ensure its success. This endeavor also affirms the university’s strategic vision of internationalizing education and training high-quality digital technology human resources for the region and the world.”

Through the K-Tech College 2025 program, we aim to support Vietnamese students, particularly those from VKU, in enhancing their practical skills, embracing innovative thinking, and becoming familiar with the tech startup environment in Korea. Ms. Tran Thuy Tien Introduces the K-Tech College 2025 Program

The K-Tech College 2025 training program spans 520 instructional hours over 14 weeks (from June 30 to October 6, 2025), designed for 39 final-year students majoring in Information Technology. These outstanding students were carefully selected through a rigorous three-round process, including application screening, skills assessment, and interviews, to ensure their technical competence, learning attitude, and readiness for an international program. The curriculum integrates modern theory with intensive practical training, covering: Frontend/Backend software development using React, Next.js, Spring Boot, GraphQL, and more; Korean corporate culture, Korean language training, soft skills, and global work mindset; Teamwork, real-world project development, product presentation, and pitching skills; Direct engagement with Korean startups, expanding internship and employment opportunities. In addition, the program adopts modern tools such as Slack and Notion to support communication, document management, progress tracking, and learning outcome evaluation.

Notably, students participating in this program are officially recognized as completing their Graduation Internship, a key component of the academic curriculum that enables them to apply acquired knowledge to real-world settings, develop professional skills, and gain a clear direction for their final thesis projects. The program is fully funded, covering 100% of tuition and lunch expenses throughout the training period, allowing students to fully focus on their learning and hands-on experience. In addition, upon completion of the program, students will be supported in connecting with Korean companies, thereby expanding opportunities for internships, employment, and long-term career development in a professional international environment.
