VKU signed strategic cooperation agreement with Sun World Ba Na Hills: Promoting digital tourism training and comprehensive international cooperation
On the morning of May 16, 2025, at Sun World Ba Na Hills – one of the leading tourist destinations of Vietnam, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held to establish strategic cooperation between Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), Danang University and Ba Na Cable Car Service Joint Stock Company (Sun World Ba Na Hills). The event marked a significant step forward in aligning training with practice, fostering digital tourism education and expanding comprehensive international cooperation.

On the VKU side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho and Heads of departments within the University; On the side of Sun World Ba Na Hills, there were Mr. Nguyen Lam An – Deputy General Director of Entertainment – Resort, General Manager of Sun World Ba Na Hills, Mr. Doan Quoc Viet – Deputy Director of Operations, Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh – Director of Culinary, and leaders of accommodation, service, restaurant and operation departments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the University affirmed: VKU aims to become a pioneer university in training digital technology and digital economy. The cooperation with Sun World Ba Na Hills – a leading model of tourism – will open up a unique practical experience space for students. This is not only a place to learn professional skills but also an opportunity to engage with corporate culture, international service standards and a global integration environment.

Representing Sun World Ba Na Hills, Mr. Nguyen Lam An – General Manager emphasized that Sun World Ba Na Hills always places the human factor at the heart of its sustainable development strategy. Cooperating with VKU not only enables us to access a pool of well-trained young talents but also supports the university in developing a practical training program, contributing to the standardization of a highly qualified, globally minded and innovative service workforce.
According to the signed agreement, both parties committed to implementing a comprehensive range of cooperative initiatives, including the following:
– Develop a Digital Tourism training program, integrate modern technology into the actual service operation model. VKU students will have the opportunity to undertake in-depth internships at Sun World Ba Na Hills, while the university will collaborate with international partners to introduce international interns to experience the multicultural working environment in Ba Na.
– Promote international cooperation by organizing internship programs, student-lecturer exchanges, as well as co-hosting interdisciplinary scientific seminars that bridge the fields of technology, services, and tourism. This is a platform to help VKU students connect with the global labor market, improve competitiveness in the era of digital transformation and international integration.
Following the signing ceremony, representatives of both sides toured the operations, accommodations, and restaurant facilities at Sun World Ba Na Hills – where VKU students are expected to engage in experiential learning and internships in the near future.
The cooperation between VKU and Sun World Ba Na Hills represents not only a connection between schools and businesses, but also a symbol of the growing trend toward practice-oriented education and deep international integration. This collaboration clearly demonstrates the strategy of developing high-quality human resources by combining academic knowledge with a professional, hands-on environment – where students not only learn to know, but also learn to do, to integrate and lead the future of Vietnam’s Digital Tourism industry to the world.
