VKU cooperates with the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW: Promoting the application of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in education
In the context of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, issued by the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, the education sector nationwide is gradually realizing the strategic objectives outlined in the resolution. Keeping up with this trend, in the afternoon of April 20, 2025, Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, in cooperation with the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, organized a workshop to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW: Promoting the application of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in the education sector of Da Nang City, focusing on teaching and educational management within the city.
Overview of the workshop
In attendance at the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Son Hai, Deputy Director General of the Department of Science and Information Technology under the Ministry of Education and Training. Representing the Da Nang Department of Education and Training was Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Department; along with the Deputy Directors; Heads of specialized divisions; Heads of District Education and Training Offices; Principals of primary, secondary, and high schools; Directors of Continuing Education Centers; and more than 1,100 teachers across the city. From VKU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho – Vice Rector, along with leaders of the university’s departments, faculties, and centers. Representing the business sector was Mr. Trinh Quoc Bao – Deputy Director of the IT Center, VNPT Da Nang.

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, expressed her sincere thanks to Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) for coordinating with the Da Nang Department of Education and Training to organize the program to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW. She emphasized the crucial role of the resolution in recognizing digital transformation and artificial intelligence as two strategic drivers for fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training. To ensure that the local education sector is not left behind, it is essential to accelerate digital transformation and apply technology, particularly AI, in teaching and management. The collaboration with VKU, a pioneer in the field of digital technology, is a practical step that enables the city’s educators to directly access new technologies and tools, gradually developing a technological mindset and practical implementation capability within schools. She also asserted and committed to creating favorable conditions for expanding effective models and integrating digital applications as an essential part of teaching and learning activities.

Representing the coordinating unit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of the University, shared that VKU is honored to collaborate with the Da Nang Department of Education and Training to organize the program implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Central Committee on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. As a leading public university specializing in training and research in information technology, communications, and digital economy, VKU clearly defines its role not only as a center for training and research but also as a strategic partner accompanying localities, especially those in the Central region, on the digital transformation journey. VKU is always ready to share knowledge, transfer technology, organize training courses, support the development of digital management systems for schools, and especially popularize knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI) – a breakthrough foundational technology. The implementation of Resolution 57 is not only a political task but also VKU’s commitment to contributing to the transformation of national education in the digital era. Through specific, practical, and sustainable cooperation programs, VKU is ready to become a hub for training support, consulting, and long-term partnership with schools in applying technology and enhancing digital capacity for teachers and educational administrators.

At the workshop, experts from VKU delivered two in-depth presentations:
- Digital transformation in education – Reality and Solutions, presented by Dr. Nguyen Quang Vu – Head of Training Department at VKU, provided an overview and practical solution orientations suitable for local implementation conditions.
- The application of AI in teaching and educational management was shared by Dr. Nguyen Huu Nhat Minh, Deputy Head of the Department of Science-Technology and International Cooperation. The presentation emphasized the role of modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, MagicSchool, Quizizz, Lumen5, etc., in supporting teachers in lesson planning, automatic test generation, personalized learning, and effective school management.
The presentations not only provided knowledge but also had high practical applicability, helping the audience clearly realize that digital transformation is no longer a distant future, but a present reality embedded in every lesson and classroom session, if applied effectively.
With a spirit of action for innovation and development, the workshop has opened up practical orientations for the education sector of Da Nang City to gradually realize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW through specific, effective, and sustainable technological solutions. As one of the pioneers in research, training, and digital technology transfer, VKU continues to affirm its role as a strategic partner and a trusted companion to localities in the Central – Central Highlands region in the journey of digital transformation in education. VKU is committed to intensifying knowledge transfer programs, training courses on the application of AI in management and teaching, and supporting the development of smart education models, thereby contributing to the creation of a generation of digital citizens with global thinking, creative capacity, and strong integration capabilities. This is also a concrete and practical action to realize the goal of fast and sustainable national development driven by innovation and technology, in line with the spirit of Resolution 57.
