In his opening speech, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice President of VKU, thanked and welcomed Dr. Philip Hung Cao for accepting the invitation to the seminar. He also shared that VKU is proud to be the leading public university in Central – Central Highlands and the whole country in training and researching advanced Information Technology, Communications, and Digital Economy. Especially, the Information Security program has been implemented for many years with significant achievements. In 2024, VKU’s student team excellently entered the top 20 of the “ASEAN Students with Information Security” competition and won several city-level awards for cybersecurity drills. Most recently, VKU’s student team won the championship at the 2025 Hackathon competition: Good and Evil Mixed Together. This demonstrates the quality of training and the university’s investment in Information Security.

The rapid development of products and services related to deep learning, machine learning, and AI has brought about many new challenges in cybersecurity. Therefore, the seminar also reflects the university’s interest in enhancing awareness and equipping students with the skills to combat online threats. In the digital age, students need to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect themselves and the community from the growing cybersecurity challenges.

Speaker Dr. Philip Hung Cao on AI insights

During his session, Dr. Philip Hung Cao provided an overview of artificial intelligence (AI) and Zero Trust – two key technological trends reshaping how data is protected and systems are operated in the digital age. AI is not only a supporting tool but also an accelerator for Zero Trust, with its ability to analyze user behavior in real-time, detect anomalies, automate responses to incidents, and optimize the digital experience while ensuring security. The integration of AI with Zero Trust enhances security, minimizes risks, and optimizes costs for organizations. The seminar also highlighted the practical value of these innovations, with examples from global enterprises and organizations. Beyond technology, the session emphasized the role of digital ethics and the preparation of the younger generation for a future led by AI.

The seminar “Supercharge Capabilities with AI” was a success, serving as a lively forum to raise deep awareness of cybersecurity, spread the Zero Trust mindset, and present promising views on the application of AI in protecting the digital space. It affirmed VKU’s pioneering position in bridging education with global technological practices and provided students with access to the latest trends, while also inspiring proactive learning, critical thinking, and adaptability to the rapid changes of the digital age.
