VKU Takes the Lead in Promoting AI and Digital Transformation in Quang Nam’s Education Sector in Implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW

On the afternoon of April 14, 2025, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam Province, held a program to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW. This resolution focuses on accelerating the application of artificial intelligence and digital transformation within Quang Nam’s education sector.

Overview of the program for implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW

Attending the program, on behalf of the Quang Nam Department of Education and Training, were Mr. Thai Viet Tuong – Director of the Department; the Deputy Directors: Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam, and Mr. Phung Van Huy; leaders of functional divisions within the Department; heads of the Education and Training Offices of cities, districts, and towns; principals of high school and secondary schools across the province; along with more than 500 teachers from secondary and high schools attending online from nearly 50 virtual access points. On behalf of VKU, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector; Vice Rectors Dr. Tran The Son and Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho; Dr. Nguyen Quang Thanh – former Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications and current Strategic Advisor to VKU; as well as leaders of departments, faculties, and centers within the university.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Thai Viet Tuong – Director of the Quang Nam Department of Education and Training – expressed his sincere gratitude to the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) for its collaboration with the Department in organizing this program to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW. This Resolution is strategically important in promoting national development in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, in which the education sector is pioneering. He emphasized that applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation in education is no longer just a trend but a pressing necessity to enhance teaching and learning quality, modernize school management, and narrow the knowledge access gap between regions. For Quang Nam – a locality rich in learning traditions and undergoing strong development – digital transformation and technology application, especially AI, have been identified as key drivers for modernizing the education system, personalizing learning experiences, and fully unleashing the potential of every student and teacher. He expressed confidence that with the companionship of VKU – one of the leading institutions in digital technology and AI training and research in the Central and Central Highlands and the whole country – the Quang Nam education sector will gain valuable resources, knowledge, and practical solutions to successfully achieve its comprehensive digital transformation goals. “This is the time for us to act more boldly, decisively, and creatively than ever before to confidently and effectively lead Quang Nam’s education into the digital era,” he affirmed.

On behalf of VKU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Rector of the university – expressed his honor in collaborating with the Quang Nam Department of Education and Training to organize this meaningful program implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Central Party on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. He emphasized that this is a significant event, not only contributing to concretizing the Party’s direction but also creating favorable conditions for the local education sector to realize its digital transformation roadmap in a synchronized and effective manner. With the mission of training high-quality human resources in information technology, communications, and the digital economy, VKU has clearly defined its role not only as a center for training and research but also as a committed partner to localities, especially provinces in Central Vietnam, on the journey toward digital transformation. VKU is always ready to share knowledge, transfer technology, organize training courses, support the development of digital school management systems, and, in particular, promote widespread knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a foundational and breakthrough technology. Through practical, sustainable, and impactful cooperation programs, VKU will continue to be a trusted companion of Quang Nam’s education sector in fostering innovation, improving the quality of education, and nurturing a generation of digital citizens equipped with global thinking and integration capabilities to serve the development of the locality and the country.

Speakers present key topics on digital transformation and AI

At the program, in-depth thematic presentations offered practical perspectives and inspiration on the role of technology in educational innovation. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thanh – Former Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications – delivered a presentation titled “Digital Transformation – The Driving Force for Advancement”, emphasizing that digital transformation is a comprehensive restructuring process of education based on data, technology, and people. He highlighted the pivotal role of education in shaping digital citizens. In addition, Dr. Nguyen Quang Vu and Dr. Nguyen Huu Nhat Minh (from VKU) presented a session on the application of AI in teaching and school management. They introduced AI-powered solutions for lesson planning, automated test generation, personalized learning path development, academic performance evaluation, and digital school governance. Key tools such as ChatGPT, Magic School, Gamma AI, Invideo, Lumen5, and Quizizz were showcased as effective “digital assistants” that help teachers save time, enhance creativity, and improve teaching effectiveness. The application of AI was identified as a strategic solution contributing to the development of a smart, modern education model aligned with the comprehensive digital transformation direction of the education sector.

With a spirit of action for innovation and development, the program has opened up practical directions for the Quang Nam education sector to gradually realize Resolution 57-NQ/TW through specific, effective, and sustainable technological solutions. As one of the pioneering institutions in research, training, and digital technology transfer, VKU continues to affirm its role as a strategic partner and a trusted companion to localities in the Central and Central Highlands regions on the path toward educational digital transformation. The university remains committed to promoting knowledge transfer programs, organizing training courses on AI applications in management and teaching, and supporting the development of smart education models.
