VKU Discusses Cooperation with the Danang Hi-tech Park General Service Center
On the morning of November 8, 2024, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, had a working session with the Danang Hi-tech Park General Service Center (DSC) to discuss cooperation in connecting and coordinating activities between laboratories.
Overview of the meeting
On behalf of DSC, there was Mr. Ngo Tan Hoa, Deputy Director of the Center, and experts from relevant departments. On behalf of VKU, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector, along with leaders of departments, faculties, and centers within the university, participated in the meeting.

In his speech, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU, expressed his pleasure at welcoming DSC and sharing a productive session. He emphasized the importance of connecting the university with research and technology application units to enhance training quality while also developing the research and creative capabilities of students and faculty members. VKU is committed to its mission and responsibility of providing high-quality human resources, conducting scientific research, and transferring knowledge and technology. With a vision of becoming a leading university in the country and aspiring to reach an international level in training and research fields, VKU operates under an advanced governance model as a modern, smart university. VKU’s strengths lie in its specialized training and research in information technology, communication, and the digital economy. The university has nearly 7,000 students, enrolling around 1,500 new students annually, providing a highly skilled workforce to meet both domestic and international labor market needs.
Additionally, VKU has established advanced research centers, such as the VKU Fintech Hub, the Semiconductor and Smart Technology Center (VKU-SSTH), and a modern technology lab in cooperation with Nam Long Group. VKU also offers an intelligent Korean language classroom (KLass) funded by Visang and KOICA, as well as practical labs and specialized research facilities in fields such as Information Security, Digital Art Design, and Data Centers, all aimed at enhancing teaching and research capabilities.

Representing DSC, Mr. Ngo Tan Hoa, Deputy Director, thanked the university leadership for the warm reception and shared that DSC, established in 2016, is a public service unit under the Management Board of Danang Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones. DSC is responsible for operating the technical infrastructure and providing support services at the Danang Hi-tech Park, as well as business incubation and high-tech human resource training. He expressed interest in exploring cooperation opportunities to optimize the use of laboratories across universities in Danang, including VKU. With the advantage of being the main unit managing over 500 businesses in high-tech industrial zones in the city, DSC will assist VKU in connecting with enterprises to organize internship and practical programs at the Hi-tech Park, providing students with access to research and application environments, and equipping them with practical knowledge and professional skills necessary for their future careers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed a strong commitment to fostering a long-term cooperative relationship to enhance the effectiveness of research and technology application. The collaboration between VKU and DSC will contribute to creating a dynamic academic and research environment, allowing students and faculty to access and develop advanced technologies, while also providing high-quality human resources to businesses both inside and outside the Danang Hi-tech Park, thus positively contributing to the overall development of Danang City.
