09 Outstanding VKU Students Selected for Paid Summer Internship at KMUTNB, Thailand
Starting 2025 with a strong mark on the global education landscape, 09 outstanding students from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang, have been selected to participate in a paid summer internship program at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand. This milestone highlights the strong partnership between VKU and KMUTNB and reflects VKU’s continuous efforts to enhance education quality and expand career development opportunities for its students. This annual international internship program has been exclusively offered to VKU students by KMUTNB since 2024, following the impressive success of the first batch of 06 VKU students who excelled during their internships at KMUTNB last year.
The three-month internship program, running from May 13, 2025, to August 23, 2025, is carefully designed with a combination of online and on-site training. During the online phase (May 13 – June 13, 2025), students will get familiar with the international working environment, engage with research projects, and prepare for the on-site internship at KMUTNB. From June 16 to August 23, 2025, students will participate in hands-on research projects at KMUTNB, working alongside top professors and researchers in Thailand.
The program offers VKU students the opportunity to experience a diverse learning environment and culture at KMUTNB. Students will not only enhance their technical knowledge through hands-on research projects but also develop English proficiency, communication, and teamwork skills in an international setting. The research projects cover a wide range of topics, including: Keyword optimization for IT job listings in web applications; Multilingual sentiment analysis for customer service improvement; Real-time feedback behavior analysis for customer service optimization; Solving multi-objective optimization problems; Metaheuristics for transportation systems; Detecting groups on social media using machine learning (ML)/deep learning (DL); Real-time emotion analysis and adaptive response systems; Deep learning and machine learning for emotional intelligence analysis in social media. These projects allow students to explore cutting-edge technologies while developing research and problem-solving skills.
KMUTNB, a prestigious university specializing in IT, engineering and technology, and tourism, has demonstrated strong commitment and investment in the program. KMUTNB provides a monthly stipend of 10,000 THB, along with free accommodation and transportation for VKU students, ensuring optimal conditions for learning and research. On VKU’s side, the university offers financial support of $468.5 to cover round-trip airfare, insurance, visa fees, and part of the living expenses, showcasing its dedication to fully supporting students throughout the internship.

The 09 selected students are outstanding individuals from the Information Technology (English-Vietnamese bilingual program), Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence fields. They have excellent academic records, strong English communication skills, and active participation in extracurricular activities. After a rigorous selection process, including English interviews and evaluations by lecturers and professors from VKU and KMUTNB, they have demonstrated their capabilities and suitability for the program.
